Need your insight
Never waste your time trying explain who you are to people who are COMMITTED to misunderstanding you ....?... There will be times in life when you'll stumble upon people who will intentionally try to misinterpret everything you say .
these people are "committed" to misunderstanding you , for whatever personal reason .
Do not waste your time or energy trying to reason with or explain yourself to these particular people .
Be the better person , rid yourself of the negative energy and move on ....?...

I believe this happens a lot for me and I wonder why because it makes me feel it's my fault or I did something bad to get this reaction ...have you got similar experience ?...
Did you confront those persons and what's their reaction ?

I know plenty of these people.
Then, I only talk about themes about our mutual work or if it's not those in my working place then I talk about general subjects. Till now this has helped me well.
A full amen to that brother! Such people want to appear better than they are by making another look small. They throw around words like “pathetic” or “silly” or cast aspersions in a vain attempt to rid themselves of their own dark shadows. Do not accept their burden upon yourself. Walk away from them keeping your integrity and maturity intact. Quality people will identify the vain for what they are.
And NEVER argue with such people, even if you are motivated from the kindness of your heart. They will just bring you down to their level and beat you with the experience.
How do other people get on with them? Its likely that contrary people have problems with lots of other people & avoiding them is the best thing there and you won't be the only person that has problems with them.
If other people do get on with them and its only you, ask someone that knows you both what the issue could be or talk to them directly. Sometimes a reflection on someone's own behaviour can make a difference. Some habits/behaviours can come across differently than intended.
Never feelguilty at someones narrow mind.
