How children see love, this is priceless, see especially the last one

Here's a little something to put a little smile on your face. Adults recently posed the question "What does love mean" to a group of children aged between 4-8 and below are their wonderfully creative, wise, inventive and innocent answers.

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.” Rebecca – age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy – age 4

“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” Mary Ann – age 4

“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.”* Lauren – age 4*

“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” Karen – age 7

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.” Mark – age 6

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.” Danny – age 7

“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.” Emily – age 8

“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.” Bobby – age 7

“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.” Nikka – age 6

“There are two kinds of love. Our love. God’s love. But God makes both kinds of them.” Jenny – age 8

“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.” Noelle – age 7

“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” Tommy – age 6

“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.” Karl – age 5

“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.” Chrissy – age 6

“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” Elaine -age 5

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.” Chris – age 7

“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” Jessica – age 8

A neighbours wife died and my little 8 year old went to visit the old man. I asked my son what he told the man. Nothing mam, I just sat on his lap and helpt him cry.............

We All find others interesting - to a point

We left this morning, on the highway, on our way to the dam, for a nice day by the water. We then decided it's time for lunch and turned off into this small town, very quaint. My friend remembered being there before, and so was I, and we went looking for this Bike Museum.
We end up staying there the whole day, with the Museum including a band, restaurant, bar and all sorts...There were mainly bikers, and the music was very well done by a guy on a guitar, and another on the keyboard, and then the drums. They once played 'Tubular Bells', and it was beyond nice. All my type of music.
The food was fantastic, and it was utterly relaxing...really good for my health. My friend bought me a painting the keyboard player did, of Freddy Mercury. The day just got better, when I gave him his birthday present, which had indigenous goodies to eat.We all really enjoyed ourselves, and went home, taking another 2.5 Hours. My son enjoyed himself too.
I watered the garden when home, and then did some painting in the bathroom. Looks like another week before all the painting is done, in the bathroom, at least the toilet is done. Busy day, indeed!
Tomorrow it's back to work, and my week-end was too busy, to really be looking forward to it, but I finished some stuff on Friday, that I must just test, so relatively easy, except if emergencies pops up...

cheers

No Real Regrets

Looking back on my life I found one or two regrets which I consider major. Some things a mere mortal cannot change but nothing time cannot heal. Have learnt to block my thought when they tend to wander in the wrong direction.
No regrets joining CS tho as I have met absolutely great people on this site. (In real life)laugh

Hope you have a great weekend whoever or wherever you may find yourself.

So, say, just how is that impeachment deal going these days?...

...I don't compulsively place the videos or yellow highlighted pieces lifted from the yellow dog press here, nor do I reference polls. Thank Goddess I don't have these features of severe TD-HD Syndrome. But rarely, a reference to pols can be instructive. Some say 70% of the voting US public thinks that whatever our brilliant President Trump did or didn't do on that Ukraine phone call, was wrong. Yet, it's closer to 50-50, on whether this single non high crime or misdemeanor, rises to the impeachable. Well aside from the fact that this spread doesn't look good for a vote for impeachment in the House, let alone conviction in the US Senate, it's interesting to ponder the roots of this poll data spread. Could it be that voters really don't believe that our POTUS is so different from other POTUS's in this one tiny regard? The "they all do it" argument. Or that the call focused on general corruption in the former USSR workers' Paradise, and not Creepy Joe Biden, as evidence by "just how did Hunter get that job anyway, and did they really pay the sister -in -law banging, little druggie that much for that little" argument? Then there's the "fear of so much TD-HDS action, and wasting taxpayers money" thinking. Or, maybe some think that the combination of all the above make impeachment unlikely, and stupid strategically, anyway. The so called---"Let's just pretend we really support our constitution, and vote him out next Novenber" trope. Interesting to see how our beloved TD-HDS folks respond here. Put on those tinted glasses for all the yellow press-yellow highlights, peebles.

The miracle of the table cloth

At Christmas time men and women everywhere gather in their churches to wonder anew at the greatest miracle the world has ever known. But the story I like best to recall was not a miracle — not exactly. It happened to a pastor who was very young but his church was very old.

Once long ago it had flourished. Famous men had preached from its pulpit and prayed before its altar. Rich and poor alike had worshipped there and built it beautifully. Now the good days had passed from the section of town where it stood. But the pastor and his young wife believed in their run-down church. They felt that with paint, hammer, and faith they could get it in shape. Together they went to work.

However late in December a severe storm whipped through the river valley and the worst blow fell on the little church — a huge chunk of rain-soaked plaster fell out of the inside wall just behind the altar. Sorrowfully the pastor and his wife swept away the mess but they couldn’t hide the ragged hole. The pastor looked at it and had to remind himself quickly, “Thy will be done!” But his wife wept, “Christmas is only two days away!”

That afternoon the dispirited couple attended an auction held for the benefit of a youth group. The auctioneer opened a box and shook out of its folds a handsome gold and ivory lace tablecloth. It was a magnificent item, nearly 15 feet long; but it, too, dated from a long vanished era. Who, today, had any use for such a thing?

There were a few halfhearted bids. Then the pastor was seized with what he thought was a great idea. He bid it in for $6.50. He carried the cloth back to the church and tacked it up on the wall behind the altar. It completely hid the hole! And the extraordinary beauty of its shimmering handwork cast a fine, holiday glow over the chancel. It was a great triumph. Happily he went back to preparing his Christmas sermon.

Just before noon on the day of Christmas Eve as the pastor was opening the church, he noticed a woman standing in the cold at the bus stop. “The bus won’t be here for 40 minutes!” he called and invited her into the church to get warm. She told him that she had come from the city that morning to be interviewed for a job as governess to the children of one of the wealthy families in town but she had been turned down. A war refugee, her English was imperfect.

CS Annual Party!!!

I think it would be so cool that the owners of this site organized an annual party/gathering at a specific world location for all of us to get together for a weekend... Maybe at a big hotel’s convention area… Or having the whole place for us?... I wonder how it would be... Music, food, drinks… You would have to provide your user name and password to be able to get in (obviously, you have to be the person in your profile pictures) and nigerian scammers would have their own special area in the parking lot, jajajajajajajaajjaja… That´s one party I would love to attend!... dancing yay
P.S. Hope I am not breaking any rules with this post, because I really think it would be a hell of a party!!!
