CBC removes Donald Trump's scene from 'Home Alone 2' broadcast: report

Sounds like a lot of pettiness and politics involved with the network. The scene doesn't last more than a few seconds, so the need for more commercial doesn't wash. I would think they would want to keep the scene in there for more ratings.

Donald Trump's cameo in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" was cut from the film by the Canadian Broadcast Company this week, according to a new report.

Viewers took to social media with mixed criticism days ahead of Christmas as they recognized the American president's noticeable absence from the 1992 film, Comicbook.com reported.

"You guys are the biggest bush league 'journalists' of all time. Editing out Trump's cameo in Home Alone 2. What kind of state-sponsored bulls--t is that? #Defund," one Twitter user wrote to the network.

"Welcome to the liberal government-controlled media," another tweeted to the network.

"Don't love Trump, but come on folks - Your hysteria over this man has risen to evangelical fervor. Guessing he'll be scrubbed from history books too?" another tweeted.

Whoops! We couldn't access this Tweet.

The edit was described as "petty" and "pathetic" by naysayers, while others defended the CBC's decision.

"TV channels are allowed to remove scenes with known criminals :)," a Twitter user responded.

Another social media user tweeted: "almost clicked to watch Home Alone yesterday, but I didn't want to see Trump, so the CBC option meets my consumer choice."

According to Comicbook.com, the CBC provided a reason for the removal, claiming the edit was "to allow for commercial time within the format."

The CBC did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.

In the iconic holiday film, Macaulay Culkin's character, Kevin McCallister, walks into the Plaza Hotel by himself as he is separated from his family. He runs into a passerby played by Trump and asks, "Excuse me, where's the lobby?"

"Down the hall and to the left," Trump responds as he towers over a young Culkin.

Amid the snub, President Trump and first lady Melania tweeted a Christmas video on Wednesday.

"Wishing you all a very #MerryChristmas! May your day be filled with peace, love and happiness!" Melania wrote.

Volcano

I'm based in Panajachel Guatemala for a while. However right now I am staying across Lake Atitlan in a little Indian town called San Pedro. There's plenty of hippie backpackers here cause this is right at the foot of San Pedro volcano. And some people like to try and climb to the top. It's a tough climb I hear. Just walking up and down some of the steep streets here is enough for me. Maybe 30 years ago I would have tried it. Anyway sort of reminds me of this song. Oh and some people get robbed on the trail up if they don't have a local guide.wave

Do y'all like country music? I like country music.

Did you know the Pointer Sisters were the first black female singers to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in 1975. They also won a Grammy for "Fairytail". In the video Anita Pointer sings the lead in a song written by her and sister Bonnie. I love this video, perhaps some of you will too.
Enjoy. tip hat

I think I'll let my hair grow long.

As I've grow older I've discovered that the inner hippie I was thought long gone is still alive and kicking. I still have a full head of hair and I don't enjoy trips to the barber shop, so I figure what the heck why not let my freak flag fly again, before my hair falls out and I would look like Bozo if I let what remained on the sides grow long. And I have to admit just the thought of it has been empowering, and I can feel a Samson like strength starting to awaken. And the money I save on haircuts can be used to support my drinking habit.cheers

A Glimpse of Hollywood @ Sunset

Sunset Blvd, that is....

I had to run some errands in Hollywood and took a few pics.

Across from the bank is this apt. Bldg that's seemingly had an iPhone ad plastered to it's facade for years. For about 5k a month you can have a nice view of DT LA...and a Starbucks on the ground level. Now that's a bargain!

On my way to the dispensary, I pass this iconic landmark.

Then, as I get to Sunset and Cahuenga, there's a chill in the air...(Dun Dun Duuuunnnnn). The dreaded CNN building!

Then, after getting my 'fix' I head toward Philz but as I wait to cross, there's some police activity. Someone set a small fire and one of the cops is putting it out with an extinguisher while others cuff the loon.

Across the street is one of the last 'record stores' I know of, Amoeba Music.

And then to Philz where I intend to put a dent in the gift card I got for X-mas...

...and where some of the most valuable artwork in LA resides.

But wait. What did I see on the wall behind the Baristas?

I seem to recall seeing a similar image right here on CS recently.

How children see love, this is priceless, see especially the last one

Here's a little something to put a little smile on your face. Adults recently posed the question "What does love mean" to a group of children aged between 4-8 and below are their wonderfully creative, wise, inventive and innocent answers.

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.” Rebecca – age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy – age 4

“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” Mary Ann – age 4

“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.”* Lauren – age 4*

“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” Karen – age 7

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.” Mark – age 6

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.” Danny – age 7

“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.” Emily – age 8

“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.” Bobby – age 7

“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.” Nikka – age 6

“There are two kinds of love. Our love. God’s love. But God makes both kinds of them.” Jenny – age 8

“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.” Noelle – age 7

“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” Tommy – age 6

“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.” Karl – age 5

“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.” Chrissy – age 6

“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” Elaine -age 5

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.” Chris – age 7

“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” Jessica – age 8

A neighbours wife died and my little 8 year old went to visit the old man. I asked my son what he told the man. Nothing mam, I just sat on his lap and helpt him cry.............
