Splendid Memories!

I tried to check the old threads and blogs of this site, but ruefully I wasn't able to find them. I still remember it only had two options: forums and threads. I miss the OG members of this site; I'm afraid some of them are either in heaven or happily married. I recall when a member of Coldplay used to be part of this site before they became famous. It wasn't a catfished account; we saw him on camera before he became big. Those were the days. I was in Taiwan when I used this app for my leisure time. It was hard for me to leave this site when I met my ex-husband with the friends I made here, but I'm glad I still communicate with them offsite. However, I still miss some who don't use social media and choose to stay here.

Going through life with the 'check engine' light on...

I got a New Years text from an old friend I haven't seen in a few years. He asked what I was up to and I responded that I'm back into flying model aircraft. We met as a group who used to talk on 2-way radio, starting with CB and later getting ham radio licenses. Now, his hobby/sport is guns. Lots of guns. I asked if he was into buying and selling as a collector and his response was shooting. I guess that's his final answer.
He did say he's going through life with the 'check engine' light on and I understand that statement.
I'll have to stop by to see him on my next trip to Miami.

Did they really do that?

There have been some claims in the past year about who took what territory, who ran away, what kind of vehicle was that on the airport tarmac, etc. Many rely only on what various media claim. Reality is sometimes those media lie.
Don't be fooled. Look for yourself. Here is a video introduction to 4 totally free satellite services any person can use from their home computer. Most here already know of Google Earth, but not many knew it has different versions. This video shows you the best one. It also shows you 3 more not owned or affiliated with Google you can use. See for yourself what is real and what is not. If the video doesn't load for your location here, the title of the video on YT is
"OSINT At Home #9 – Top 4 Free Satellite Imagery Sources"
A manual search on YT should bring it up for you if the link here doesn't work. professor

Butter my bread...

More than a decade ago, when I wanted an English muffin, I would split it, lather on some real butter, toast it so the butter drips off the edges and then drop a slice of Provolone cheese on top. I could eat a few a week.
Times have changed and I'm consuming less than one English muffin a month, toasted first then adding butter substitute made from Canola oil and lightly sprinkling Parmesan cheese on top.
Options would be a slice of tomato or a few pieces of Hass avocado.
Dinner tonight included sauteed Chinese eggplant (we call them purple airplanes due to their long skinny shape) with celery and it's been a while so I topped them to the English muffin.
A healthier way to butter my bread.

Australian journalist John Pilger has passed away

He passed on Dec 30th. John was very well known for his journalism over many decades - in Vietnam as a young reporter, up to the conflicts (and threat of conflicts) we currently face. One could sense that John cared deeply about peace, and never shirked from aiming criticism at whomever he felt was deserving of it (no matter how powerful that person or government may be).

John's final published essay can be read below:

Must watch timeline/documentary on the events of January 6th

This is really well done. For the first time, a true timeline of the events and the various mitigating factors on the day of January 6th 2021 has been put together in video documentary form.

Highly recommended. Free to watch, on:

This will be my last blog...

I've been an active member of CS for a number of years and enjoyed blogging. This place has been my playground. Some of my blogs were informative, some were funny, some sad, some political and I often followed current events. But the time has come to say goodbye as good times often have to end.
So with this blog, I'm announcing it will be my last.

Well, for 2023 it will be my last blog.
Goodbye 2023, it's been real... and I'll see you in 2024, when I start blogging again!

Repenting and improving and keeping good

Repent of your sins and improve and keep good: This will lead you to be saved.
God is love and good, therefore love God with all heart..., and love your neighbours as yourself (love
all people).
There are so many people going to hell to suffer terribly..., because they don,t repent of their sins...!
All those who hear this, repent and improve and keep good.
So believe in God and you will be saved.
seek truth and be true and truth will make you free.
God bless.
