You cant sneak a car into a classroom to kill anyone, or manage to get a car into a restaurant to surprise everyone covertly.

so you are going to dismiss the fact that more people dies due to cars? Actually more kids are killed by cars every year than by guns. Cars also contribute to global warming.... guns dont. It would actually be moronic to dismiss these facts.

As has been stated earlier,a standard NATO .556 round is designed not to kill specifically, it's rationale was to clog up Russian supply and logistics and make battlefield loses clog up and basically bog down an army.
A standard 7.62 round though, if your shot with this will drop you down for good.That's why some sniper rifles use this calibre.
The issue is why American's tend to turn their guns on each other on such a regular basis, and how this could be stopped, and the loses minimised.
I'd change availability...pistol or shotgun for home defence only.
Single action rifles like the Remmington 700 available for hunting/sporting use.....nothing semi automatic.
Nothing full auto available to the public, including anything that can be converted with "Tri Burst" triggers.
Psychological assessment for approval of a gun permit.
No approval for carrying concealed weapons, whatsoever.....with a 25 year penalty for anyone being caught.
Just adopting these rules along, there won't be old MAC10's finding their way into the hands of maniacs that can take their nice pride into a school and blow their classmates away.

So you don't see a problem with a "kid" being able to buy a MAC10 and go into school with it?
It's your right to have the ability to own a gun where you can have the ability to fire off 600 rounds a minute in a school?
