I love my 9. I think it's important for women, especially single women to know how to shoot and at the very least be comfortable with guns.

Tater: Well it is obvious to me that you raised them right and must be a responsible gun owner....
That was not my point confused and yes you're right there still would be wars and murders but don't you think it could lower the percentages

Different cultures breed different ideologies about guns. Different countries that have not had the "right to bear arms" don't miss it because its something they never had or really pondered. I think here in America, it is more of an issue because it is something we do have and something that the gov't can threaten to take away from us. Kind of like a child that has never had candy, doesn't know what it's like to have it, but the child that has had candy, doesn't want to have it taken away.

In a sense, as odd as it sounds, a part of the American culture is threatened. Yes it isn't food, water or air or something of neccesity, but it is something that we've always had, which is why we fear not having it.

Its a proven fact, not just Aostralia, but all over the world, that an unarmed citizenry get preyed on worse than an armed one.

The only thing that would lower the percentages, is if you can magically take away ego, jealousy, and greed away from human nature. Sorry but it's the truth... The only thing we can do is try our best as parents, to raise our children right, but the government is also infringing on those rights.... SOdunno what is the anwser..

Women with guns make me nervous.

Women with guns who are pissed with me make me even more nervous.

Ex American wives with short tempers and shotguns make me particularly nervous.

I agree with you about human nature and fully understand good peoples reasons of fear.handshake I just want to point out even as a cop or civilian that the bad guys know there target and we do not know we are so they have the upper hand so to speak and even if we are armed in all probability would not get the chance to defend ourselves.

Sparky55: You could probably use Afghanistan as yet another example of gun control to control the population. The first thing the Taliban did was attempt to disarm the people so they could "restore the peace". Sounds like Darth Sidious and the first Galactic Empire of Star Wars fame

AH hell I guess we should just use oppression to women's rights to bare arms, their right is to bare children, not arms... laugh J/K.......

I think it is great if a woman has her own gun, I bet she doesn't live in an abusive relationship..cheers
