Ok call me old fashioned but it a man asked me to do the traveling on a first meeting I would consider it a red flag.

The true sign of a gentleman for me is if he accepts the travel no questions asked.

It is interesting in the period of women's equality that so many women still want the old fashion policy of the man courting them and coming to them first. Trust me I am an old fashion man and believe in all the old rules. I just find it amazing that so many women do!

This might be a reason for conflict later on in the relationship. You can't have it both ways ladies!

I agree, I've been there done that... there's just something fundamentally wrong with men who promise to come and meet you and then back out with some lame excuse, or due to lack of money or whatever... Can't really respect a guy like that. I travelled far for someone who always made false promises. Equality doesn't mean we abolish all gender specific ideals! A woman needs to feel that she's worth the trip. Simple. wine

Okay YOUR OLD FASHION!!! Ladies you cant have it both ways. Equal Rights means equal responsibility. I hope it would depend on who would traveling be easiest for. Not The man should do it because I am a woman!

llasvegascutie: ladies how far or have you traveled to meet a new guy for a date and was the date good or bad.

Copenhagen and Alaska, were the furthest. Yes the dates were fantastic and continued for a while. I am still good friends with both, which leaves the options open as far as holidays go.

when i travel i sometimes include meeting a guy not for a date but just meeting the guy i met online.i will only meet him if i feel comfortable and if i have time to do so. i work in an airline so its not that i put so much effort on it.just an added bonus to meet new people when i travel to a new place.

I wouldn't travel over an hour, if he is further away then that, he can do the traveling. Besides, how safe is it for a woman to be the one to go a long distance to someplace she does not know, and no one knows her? That is kind of crazy in my mind, but I work with the families of missing persons every day all day long...makes one more keen to the realness of going missing easily. Scary
