kizzy27: Hi I travelled 4 hrs to meet a man half way from our homes we had been talking for several weeks , We booked into a pub went out for dinner then back to the pub to watch the band & have a dance or three ,He ran into some mates & turned into an a**hole he started drinking heavily got absolutly trashed threw up outside in the beer garden getting some on his shirt
charming
No second date!!!! But I pashed a nice man i met on the dance floor so all was not lost Kizzy
Hmmmm, over 5,000 miles. It turned out ok, had a good time, but we weren't suited for each other. Traveled 3 hours and we are meeting again. Heck, when you live where I do, going 3 hours is like 20 minutes and almost alway have to drive an hour or two. Nothing between here and there and you meet in the middle. (In the middle????? WOW)
i flew from las vegas to australia in 2007 to meet 4 different ladies off a chat line and got 2 kisses and the other 2 were not good but since i work for the airlines it was nice to visit australia and hear the funny accent.

venere08: SF, we all have the right to make whatever decision we wish, after assessing a situation, surely.
Just because it may not be something you would do, does not make the other person a 'weirdo'.
You might not agree with the action she took, but that is no reason to put the young lady down. Very disappointing.
Of course we all have the right to do as we please.
I was not putting her down I was responding to Whaat's post in the manner of logically guessing how the 26 hour trip went for g33kurl.Yeah, the language could have been different, but there was no other way to put it. There was no need for anyone, you and her, to take it personal as it was by no means a personal attack.
Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings here, just putting things how it is. I have also traveled to America to meet somebody, but that was kind of on the way since I was already in America visiting home.
I tend to use the terms "freak" or "weirdo" in a humorous manner to drive a point...kinda hard over the internet when one can't hear how I deliver it or see my facial expression/body language. I've used it many times before and I'm not really serious when I use those terms. I think a couple of members can vouch for me on this...like Kidatheart. Apparently, some get sarcasm.
My honest opinion is that if you are gonna travel 26 hours or 10 years in quest for a 'connection', then that's what is meant to be because of the decision made by the individual. If one has the time and money to do so, by all means. In a way, it can look desperate, and in another way it can look wise considering the variables.
Freak...
g33kgurl: maybe he's just picking on me especially with the next post...
I'm not picking on you g33kgurl. Relax and lighten up.
I meant weirdo in a joking manner. True, I would not travel 26 hours to meet somebody, but if you did or if anyone plans to, then go for it. The fact that 26 hours seems like "wow" induced me to jokingly say weirdo and freak...lol
Weird is usually defined by somebody who perceives something as not normal or something they would do in their little world that exists in their head. There is no weird really and at the same time there is no such thing as normal. I'm continually called weird all the time here in Sweden, especially when I eat peanut butter. Swedes see this as weird because they do not eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches. So they call this weird, but jokingly of course.
StressFree: Regardless, you're all freaks in my book
Get it?
I have a property in the country and it's farming territory.
The farmer next door has a last name of 'Freak'. All true.
T. and B. Freak.
So I find myself feeling very uncomfortable telling people that my neighbours are 'Freaks'. They look at me as if to say why am I being so rude, and I have to quickly qualify it and say it's their name!

But based on what he's said here before, he seems one of the good ones, wouldn't you say?
It's not a matter of categorising b/w good and bad 'ones'. I'm just referring to the language used.
I'm sure you know that, though.
