sweetowen: We're still talking about the mess from Nixon!
Which began with Johnson....forget Nixon, he was a 70's Bush! 2 moron's from different mother's. Kennedy was the last great Democrat...had he lived we very well could have bypassed the Vietnam war.

Ambrose2007: I hope you'll include the Democratic party as a thing of the past as well, T? There is no practical difference between the two any longer. And there certainly is no "fresh breeze of change" blowing through Washington these days. That breeze is about as stale as the moldy air in my windowless storage shack. Look at who's in his administration. All the same power-brokers/familiar power-hungry faces. And Obama's policies could be accurately described as the Bush Administration March to Facism, The Sequel. He's continuing pretty much all of Bush's policies, and even expanding on them. All that's changed is the tan and the nice smile and the lack of verbal gaffes.
Agreed on the practical differences. I don't see any radical changes in some of the major institutions...especially in education or with the monetary system. But that's about 60 years in the future. Like I said, true change has begun and we are in the infancy stage. I mean that in the sense that we elected a black or half black and half white President. That's an indicator for what is to come in the future as the new generation will surely cement change.
I think we need to give Obama some more time before we can assess a march to Fascism. Don't agree with you there at all. In fact, there is no way that America will become a fascist republic. Unless you want to entertain the unthinkable.
Obama is trying to restructure the educational system, and that's good enough change for me...for now. But it's a wait and see. There are so many things that are going on with Obama's plan and so far it's safe to say that at least there is a wide range of diversity he has gathered of very bright people in every facet of the work to be accomplished.
I've been off the ball recently cause of baseball, but now I'm curious to see what's going on. It doesn't take long to jump back in the game.

Better start Slamming that Ball and Shout at the Umpire!
It's not about parties, but issues. Bush was the worst president in the history of our nation, bar none. If Obama can move us from a poor to better position without adding more crap to an already crap-laden wagon by the Elephant Regime, then I am for it. If not--Badminton Anyone?
newlife09: The republicans have been on such a liberal drift that by the time they ever get in power again (IF), they may be more liberal than Clinton, lol.
Mind you, by 2012 whites will be the minority in the US, and we all know which party depends on whitey to get elected.
Personally, I think we have seen our last republican president.
Yeah, just like we know who all votes for Dhimmicrats.
Fallingman: Don't let it get to you Owen. There is a school of "thought" at work here that says if you didn't serve in the army you know nothing and are not fit for office. The same guys think that the country should be run for the benefit of the military yet spout on about the constitution and the freedom that America represents. But they don't see this as contradictory. No disrespect to people in the Army...they are as good as any others...but they are no better!
HA HA HA The country should be run for the benefit of the Army... The civilians are the ones who set policy and who tell the military what to do Fallingman-not the other way around. If and when this country decides that Japan, S. Korea are on their own and can police the seaways in that area, we will draw down. If and when Russia reforms itself, likewise with NATO.

How is Obama going to help this country with the massive debt he's giving us. There is no way we can afford the policies he wants to pass.
Conrad73: Samething was said in the eighties about the Democrats, and they received a larger trouncing than the Republicans did! Best thing would be a Third Party,so a fresh beginning could be made What's inhabiting DC at the moment is extremely Substandard!
I agree Conrad! What we need in Washington is someone strong enough of character who will stand up to the Banks and Big Business and say enough is enough. Someone who honestly gives a damn about the people as a whole. We tend to elect puppet presidents who are led by the nose of everyone with a agenda. Until we find such a person who can truely lead and that, by example, thing's will stay Status Quo! You can call yourself a Republican, Democrat, whatever you want, but, a wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf. jmo
