Dknew: The only problem is is that the dems where the majority party in the Senate and Congress starting in 2006, So what does that say about them ?
It's going to stay that way too for a while. Get used to it and be patient.
To be honest, we need better and more diverse representation in the Senate and House of Representatives. Having only two political parties dominate the Congress is a major joke for such a big, powerful, and influential nation.

Seriously, once we have better and more accurate representation in our political chambers parallel with our major institutions, then we'll start to see real change...for the better of course.
Two parties represented in Congress? That's tragic and unfair.

I agree. That's why I liked Perot (didn't vote for him) but adding the third party at that time (he took, IIRC 18% of the pop vote) sure made the other two parties edgy, though not altogether more honest. Badminton anyone?
NeWildflower: You know, I was willing to give you a pass all this time because I figured different strokes for different folks, and I thought you might have a glimmer of intelligence in there somewhere... But this is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I've seen yet come off of your keyboard. All of it!
Give yourself a hand Shortbus!! You win the prize.
Hey NeWildflower That's a crude way to talk to your internet boyfriend I bet you're all turned on
I used to watch Different Strokes. Gary Coleman ruled for a while.

Thanks for the "pass"...I knew you were making them at me but failed to realize you were handing them out as well.
The only thing you don't like about it is the fact that it addresses the GOP failings. The rest is just fluff.
It'd be one thing, ya know, if the majority of the US thought differently as do I...but alas, that is not the case.
Indyfella: If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given Tony Blair a set of inexpensive and useless (to Tony Blair's UK video formatting) DVDs,..... when Tony Blair had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who do-not keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would y ou have approved?
If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive?
Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 10 weeks -- so you'll have three years and nine-and-a-half months to come up with an answer.

BebeII: All until 2010-enjoy it while you have it.
With the lack of representation of other political parties, it's no real enjoyment really. Like I said earlier, the two party system's domination needs to change, and it will with how the younger generation will vote in the future and how they will create new parties or give more power to the other parties in America.
America needs a new political party that has some influence. One that actually represents the people more fairly. The Republicans and the Democrats have failed badly. Shouldn't there be more representation of different political parties in Congress at least? Sweden has 7 different political parties represented in it's parliament. It does level the playing field and represents the people who do actually have more than two political parties to choose from. With America having over 300 million citizens, how can two political parties fairly represent America? And the American way of doing things (Corporatism) is not exactly on good terms right now with the global business sectors....
I love America our culture, but the political parties and system sucks. That is all. Screw the Democrats and Republicans and their rich capitalist alliances....
Yep,goes something like this: "The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."[H. L. Mencken]

So the system sucks. Why then give more power to them to control our lives? Those who voted for Obama have done just that-his playing footsie with radicals was ignored.

That's the spirit Indyfella It's nice to see a positive attitude here. I like that Meme'ish hysterical contagion you are trying to spread.
