Yes, it's sad. But life goes on. He hasn't been in anything for a long time. I do remember him in his karate show, though. Seems like a lifetime ago. wine

I don't think he was a great actor but commiting suicide is sad. Especially after living his life for seventy something years to just end it himself? I don't understand that. His life couldn't have been that bad... confused

Greatness is greatly exaggerated when we talk about actors or singers. What passes for 'talent' nowadays was used to pick up barf not so long ago ( well, maybe quite a while ago...gettingoldlaugh )

Anyways. He wasn't one of the "greatests" but I think we all have fond memories of the time we grew up watching his TV shows in the '70.
I'm not sure he committed suicide but if he did, then he just got downgraded from 'Star' to Looser in my book.

Farewell Dave.

The 'bang' isn't in Kill Bill for Thurman, she would more likely have slashed him with the sword, no?

Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean-favoured and imperially slim.

And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good Morning!" and he glittered when he walked.

And he was rich, yes, richer than a king,
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine -- we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.

So on we worked and waited for the light,
And went without the meat and cursed the bread,
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet in his head.

by Edwin Arlington Robinson

She kills him with that death punch she learned from that crazy old guy. Then I think she points her finger at him and says bang. Then he walks off into the sunset and dies. Although, it would be more entertaining if she lopped him up with the Samurai sword. laugh

Always easy to call someone a loser. Suicide runs far deeper than labels. The demons that creep into someones life that causes them to take drastic measures cannot be simply written off in simple terms.

When you deal with suicidal people you realize they are not losers. Many are just very tortured

I thought it was funny how Kung Fu was a pacifist, but he couldn't stay out of fights. And he never learned how to act normal and get along with people. He just kept right on acting like a space alien until all the locals in the little wild West town freaked out and decided to gang up and beat him up. Every single episode - without fail. I think it was passive aggression. And then, there were the flashbacks of his youth in a Buddhist monastery. Did it really happen, or was he just buck crazy. Maybe he really grew up in Kansas. Maybe he spent his childhood snatching marbles in the schoolyard. Then, the other kids would gang up on him and - hung! Hoo! Ha! Kowabunga!
