Well done USA!!!
Shocking upset...I kind of hope South Africa beats Brazil. The crowd will be incredible for the finals if that happened...

USA are currently ranked 14th in the fifa world rankings, which is remarkable in itself. I will be interesting to see where they rank after tonight's result.
Come Americans...its a hell of a good team you've got there.
bodleing: Well if the unthinkable should happen and soccer football really does take off in The States.
Guess who's going to get the blame.
A thought for you Bodleing. Adu can play with the Brazilians at their own game....ball handling. He has the magic touch and speed to go with it.
So?
Sunday could be interesting. It would be a real bad mistake on thier part to mark him one on one. If they play him with two....it means some one else is getting space and one on one coverage.;-)
Just read a article on the match....some are saying it is one of the biggest matches the US has ever played....to play for win a major tourney and to play Brazil at the same time.
I am not going so far as to say that. I still like the 1-0 win over England, so many years ago that they were playing with the brown ball as being the biggest.:-)
As for fotbol taking off in the states......give it a year or two. I think we were saying that in 68-69......LOL....but it has come along ways since.

Bummer.....2 nil at half. And we give up three in the second. Including a disputed goal.
But this side is shaping up nicely for the World Cup. It take a solid team to stay on the field with Brazil's best.....
It would have been something to hold that 2-0 half time lead.
And with that little bit of experience can go a long way in the world cup. Holding the lead is part of the game, we American seldom get a chance to practice at.....LOL......make that almost never get a chance to practice at.:-)

Not bad a Score against the Land of Pelé. Soccer is after all Brazil's National Sport!
