yes thankyou you do say christian in your profile...i'm just sharing my point of view and my spiritual goal ,,,,.. as a musician i like to worship and meditate and pray ... but the truth is my faith is beyond the realm of verification and falsification and my walk with god must be one of faith ... who does know what we will face ,,, old or young,, rich or poor.. at the moment of our death?

TRUE TRUTH VRS RELIGIOUS TRUTH

I think this could be a VERY interesting thread, if it were focused on what people actually mean by the statement. What constitutes "religious" or "spiritual," for example? I suspect people vary rather wildly on how they'd answer those questions.

I don't classify myself as either, but I imagine that some might consider me "spiritual," in the sense that I'm concerned with larger ethical and psychological issues...?confused

Thank you for dedicating a forum to me, I feel very special now.laugh Right, I am not an Atheist, so I do believe in a GOD. Throughout my whole life I have had a very strong connection with this conscious energy, and though I can not prove it to anyone, it has blessed me with a very special task to reveal the truth, and people listen to me. With that being said, I believe that we were created, by flesh and blood beings a long time ago, using their own DNA double helix, and filling it with chromosomes from evolved primates on Earth, so we would have their wits, but be suited to live on this planet. However, the energy within our galaxy, makes it possible for everything to exist, and controls our thoughts through consciousness. These older beings were able to create us, because this energy allowed it. Weather we were their replacement, or they will be back someday, I'm not for sure, but if you study ancient civilizations, they mention that these beings will be back on, December 21/2012.

Concerning life after death, I can't really say. If you read the ancient story, The Epic Of Gilgamesh, an ancient Sumerian King of the city of Uruk. You will hear a the life story of a very powerful King, on a quest to find immortality, after his best friend dies. He searches for one of his ancestors named, Utnapishtim who was granted eternal life by the Gods for building a giant ark to save mankind from a giant flood.(Who the Bible called Noah). Gilgamesh finds him, and is told that humans do not have eternal life like the Gods, and when we are dead thats it so enjoy every moment of it. Now, I know that the old testament in the Bible is derived from these Sumerian stories, with a little bit of more recent additives such as life after death. The Sumerian myths are thousands and thousands of years older than the old testament, so I'm leaning toward the originals so when we are gone, we are gone fore ever. Unless the beings who created us come back in 2012 and take some of us with them to live for ever, like Enoch.

Thats my best guess at it given the evidence, and the dreams that I've had. I could be wrong, but I learn more every day.wave

So you think any of the above "beliefs" qualify you as "spiritual"? Why? Would I be spiritual if I believed the green Venusians were plotting to overthrow the next US election or bombard us with banana bread pudding?confused

blushing Hi, Lady.

But I really do wonder. Does believing in crazy stuff make one spiritual? Or does it have to be a particular brand of crazy stuff?

I descibed myself as a "Free-Thinker".I believe I know what that means.
I cannot describe what has not happened yet.Neither can you.
People can call themselves "spiritual"or "religious"without reference to God or gods...To me ,you simply sound Thoughtful...

Ambrose, read again.doh I said that we were in contact with a consciousness that some people call God. Spiritual is the closest thing on the option to what I might believe. You try to make aliens so far fetched with your ignorance, but we are here and breathing. Don't you think that we are alien to a place such as Europa, yet it has water, but we couldn't survive there? You and I both know that the oldest modern human remains found are only 200,000 years old. Yet the Sumerian kings list goes back just a hair further than that? Thats way too short of amount of time to have evolved, and you know that. Besides the second and third chromosome in our DNA is fused together, and that only happens in a lab. Everything that we have found out about them has been true, so why would they lie, and why were their myths important enough to end up in the creation story of every religious book? What is it exactly that you think happened anyway, because you haven't mentioned yet? Why are you standing on the sidelines coward, tell us a story!laugh
