lovinglaura: the only reason people choose to believe in a higher power is because acknowledging the existence of one would mean answering to one. It would mean having a conscience, having love for others, and it would mean that in the end there will be punishment or praise for how we lived our life on earth.

Who is this he that you refer to? The Bible is the word of corrupt Romans and is not only replete with contradiction but also with blood lust and hatred - most people only ever read the sunday school versions - I suggest a deeper read for thos who want to truly understand this despicable attempt at historic people control.........

He gave us a total freedom so we can test everything.
So that's what we are doing now.
We are all spiritual beings, a sparkle of that unknown energy.
We're from the same source.
We are children. Growing up children. Sometimes a more bright sparkle come, trying to help us a bit.
And as always, we forget what that sparkle told us, we create
religions and they bring power, money so we want more and as *our* religion is the best, we authorized yourself to kill others who don't believe in *our* god.
But there's a few things we have forgot.

lovinglaura: I have never heard so many aweful and hurtful comments about our God before in my life. It saddens me to see that the people that Jesus Christ died for are still mocking him and rejecting him. Nobody else will ever love you as much as he does, so how can you make jokes about the one who suffered a horrible death on Calvery just so you could have a shot at going to Heaven. I do not understand this rejection and non-belief.

I believe that all of us as human beings are connected. Our bodies contain the exact same elements of that of the earth. Without these elements we could not exist. The earth is our true mother and we are all connected through her. This is why I really believe in the theory of evolution. I believe god was created by man to explain the unknown. I do not buy in to the theory that god waved his hand or farted and the universe and earth were created.
I believe it was a series of events that happened at the right time and place, to allow life to evolve.
