Personally, I don't like Christmas very much brings back alot of unpleasant memories, and is a time of great sadness due to a personal loss to my family.

Each year I try to go thro the motions and feel I have to enjoy it because on the expectation placed that 'We Should'

It's my first Christmas here, my partner will be working so it will be pretty much like any other day to me.

How will you be spending yours? wine

Hi Morgan. hug comfort

I hope things will go smoothly for you.

I never believe in Holidays either.

I believe they emphasize to much on buying things and shoving the perfect family image.

Those of us that do not have anyone just contemplate things and try to not to let it get to us. Sometimes I think the Holidays is the human race's way of cleansing itself. The weak have done themselves in and the strong push forth for another day until they can't go on any more.

I have Christmas off and probably be spending it at home alone.

Mmm I like the sound of that too, although my family (daughter and husband + grandchild) and I dont go crazy at Christmas. We dont see a lot of each other, due to distance, so we have a lovely peaceful day together, sharing a meal and some gifts.

wave Thats pretty much how i feel, so many people get into debt trying to provide this Wonderful Day and buy presents for their children they just can't afford, because of the hyoe and pressure placed on them, my daughter started stressing in November!

So many spend it alone its truly sad, we can keep each other company here laugh hug gift

You're so right morgan hug Christmas does highlight the sad things in our lives, particularly memories of the loved ones who are no longer here to share it with us.

And especially for those who have no one to share the day with sigh

But I hope all the people out there who are spending it alone can at least have a peaceful day and that those of us who are fortunate to have someone to share it with, will count our blessings.

I know I will

I don't mean to be all doom and gloom, just reflecting a little on the reality for some.

Hope you and your family have a magical day together hug bouquet

As most of you know I lost my husband acouple years ago because of lung cancer and it was a very sad time for me but I managed to get through it.

This last year I began my own home based business and buried myself in my work and began volunteering part time in a nursing home near my home by serving the residents who reside there holiday meals which keeps me pretty occupied so I'm not dwelling soley on my loss.

This holiday season I'll most likely be doing the very same thing as last year helping out at the nursing home.
