Guess that would be the Canadian definition, if that's what it means to you up there. In the US it means speak out or yell back. And 20 years ago it was "holler", as to yell. But in the south they tend to have lazy "r"s, so it sounded the same. Now, most of the time, you only hear punks say holla. No one I know ever says that.

and comments like that are total proof that its not the same as before. people used to treat each other with a tad, ok a LOT, more respect than now. think back to the 50s...women may not have been treated equal enough to vote, but they were damn sure respected as mothers and wives. Moral Fiber back then was family oriented...now we applaud parents like that, such as Nene and Arabella, that are good parents. Families like that shouldnt be an exception, that should be the rule.

well being an adult back then and being one still I can say this without doubt... back then when someone displayed manners and morals they meant it.

Today its a veneer, a coating like on a deck of cards, and it eventually wears thin... probably because of overuse.
20 year ago if it was said or displayed it was a sincere comment.

As for the topic of morals... today, morals are a type of eel.
20 year ago, morals whereand becoming scare and decaying.

I feel morals are a badge folks put on themselves alot nowdays. Easy to take off when it doesn't suit the purpose.
Disposable..like the way of things and people lately?
I have met folk with pure hearts...but, many more with cracked self-built armors.

Just want to add that as far as manners go, I see a lot more of them from people in real life than I do here in the forums.

For some 'old school' morals...
I'd recommend the film..."SIN CITY"...on DVD...

Maybe some of their manners are a bit...abrupt...
but the Gents are true Gentlemen...(and real 'men'...)

as for the ladies, (well, not all the ladies behave like ladies)
but...all the wowen in it are 'class in a glass'...!

It certainly shows a sense of honor, self sacrifice
and true heroism (putting your *ss on the line for someone else).

Times change, t.v and music and laws has a lot to do with it.,,Lucie and Rickie had different beds on the show, now everybody is screwing on every channal,,,,Elvis was shot from the waste up on t.v because he moved his hipps ,on the sullivan show the door's were not suppose to sing "get much HIGHER" because higher could be taken as getting hi.They sang it anyway and wasnt invited back to the show, ever,The stones had to change the words on the sullivan show to"lets spend some time together" instead of night together, because it could be taken as staying out all night....but than came laws against sensorship and now the world is really messed up......

Had to laugh the other night when a very G rated sitcom (Yes Dear) used that song "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates" in an episode, when it was actually banned from the radio when it first came out. They claimed it was too suggestive.
