tomboygirl: Yes and i bet your children felt real happy about your pointing out their faults to their authority figures..too bad for you that times have progressed so that simply being ones elder doesn't come with instant respect and humility-you actually have to earn it these days.

You have assumed they knew which they did not, another bad error due to not respecting your elders. Experienced people gather all the facts and then make a judgement.

It is not possible to earn respect as when you point things out to the younger generation you risk being knived.

I learnt to stand up and give my seat up if an older than I person got on a but or tram. I was happy to address my teachers as SIR, it was all part of being respectful.

No amount of talk / writing will change my views that the current way is correct.

You should know better but you do not so let us agree to disagree.

Well G.T. Its interesting to know that you consider all people of a younger generation likely to knife you,"when you point things out".
I do wonder how the younger generations manage to survive, with all the knifing that goes on (in your head anyway).

perhaps its just YOU they have this itch to knife..I could entirely understand that, and sympathise..

GenuineMale: I consider myself a genuine male as I am trustworthy, honest and kind hearted. But not stupid enough ANY LONGER to keep paying for woman to eat out and be entertained who from my experience up to date only list themselves on Internet dating sites for free meals.

Perhaps there are fair ladies out there who understand my views and will contact me so that a genuine friendship can develop on the basis of a possible relationship?

It seems men list temselves and genuinely are looking for love, but woman often do not. We can only speak from experience.

Is there anyone else who consider the same?

From my point of view it’s only tasteless self-advertising, doesn’t coincide with my idea of a man.

It’s already 6th page, and who would pay for dinner was your only concern that far. There are other ways to spend one’s time, ever heard about them? A visit to a library is basically for free, why wouldn’t you consider that alternative?

But I agree with you on “we can only speak from experience” bit. From my experience you are a male variety of a biddy, and the only genuine part you’ve shown so far is lack of masculinity.

By the way, ever heard the word “joke”?

Am pretty sure u will be on many dating sites for a long time with your attitude.doh

Pravo, a new word description for the word masculinity.

masculinity.
meaning will the man pay.

A joke.
Basically the reason I started this thread.

Ever heard of a joke misfiring? Well this one has brought so many smiles to my face it has been wonderful. Wonder if it will stop at page 6, or will it not.

One lady had me spot on some pages back. I am a wind up merchant and boy have I made a good one here.

It will no doubt keep me busy thinking up another one soon to to pass this no doubt record of number of pages. Not in the next days as am busy sending e-mail replies to a number of lovely ladies that I have known between 1 and 30 years who are currently single and just loved visiting me and spending time with me and yes, I paid most of the bills but never refused if they offered to chip in. Well, thats the way I am, offer and never have it refused.

Any comments greatly appreciated and the joke is on you all.

Got a mate who has just brought a serious relationship to an end.Reason ? Well they started talking about life after the wedding and what she wanted was to give up work, stay at home and do nothing, store and credit cards for her,but him to pick up the tab...yes SOME women are that way. Some will carry on working but see their money as thiers and yours as theirs too.And they wonder why relationships don,t work out.laugh

Not at all, but try a different restaurant next time he takes you out, but dont tell him as he will not feel happy about his money ending up on the pavement.

Entrepreneurial / Start-up

Well now I see you are attempting what has been my career in the UK for many years and it has been very good for me. Many good sized UK companies still trading and expanding were original start-ups by me, just me and my purse. Purse is shut very tight indeed now and best wishes to you.

One little hint, start-ups were always at least 5 years of very hard work and many hours, but paid off nicely thank you. Never spent time on any other matters such as forums or such, no play just hard work. Try it sometime!

josingleinspain: How sad that a woman judge a man by how much he spends on them????????????????? Not sure u understand english very well............But cant expect much from a person that is so petty that a dinner bill should be payed by the lady and that after he asked the lady out. I keep myself and had kept my children on my own for most of their lives and do not need a man to help or pay for me in any way, shape or form. I personally would not waste my time on a man that is that has no idea how a decent man should treat a woman.......as for the ladie you are seeing good luck to them all.... The thing is can you not understand almost everybody feels the same about it.

Albert Einstein was also a person many did not see eye to eye with, but he was proved right in the end.

Men will pay and so will say until their purse is empty. What now dear god, I can not pay, good lord were are the ladies.

Mmmmm .. interesting thread this.grin

And some highly amusing come-backs from GT.

I can see his point of view. I`ve often wondered about this subject myself (being from the Old School of thought myself). But now I have cracked it!

When I am INVITED it means the other person is doing the paying. When I issue an invitation it means I am paying. When we choose something together it means we split the cost.

Also ..... if we going somewhere and the place looks expensive, I say so ..... No ways am I paying the Earth for a plate of food I could eat at home for a fraction of the cost!.... Soooo .. the financial transactions are made clear before entering the restaurant! .... OR .... I order what I can afford to pay for!

A bit of zig-zagging thru a relationship also works ...... He pays for the meal, I pay for the drinks. Or if we eating at home, the invited one brings along some delicasy in eating or drinking form ....

With the horendous prices of eating out these days, tis not fair for the man to always have to foot the bill ... even if he can afford to.

With my guy (yes it states in my profile I`m in a relationship) we have settled for eating at his or my place ..... and we both contribute to the cost of the food/drinks ... but also taken into consideration is the fact that I am a more accomplished gardener so he saves on valuable gardening advice and manual labour ..... and I clean windows too! I even clean things he doesnt know how to clean! grin drinking
