Yep Serene, the ABC pulled the rug from under him pretty quick!!

That's half the problem, we shouldn't assume that 'dirty old men' are the only peadophiles around, as we shouldn't assume that all those 'trustworthy' people - like priests, teachers, tennis coach, piano teacher are so nice and couldn't possibly harm a hair on your childs head.

devil devil devil

And the Socceroos are not looking to flash after getting a 4-0 flogging!! cheering

And to follow on from newlife.

We shouldn't assume. But I coach kids soccer.

And i see it time and again. Parents pull up to the park disgorge the kids and run. They don't really know the Coach. The coach has not under gone any police checks. he has just put up his hands to say yes he would take on the job.
No one has asked them what their motivation is.

I went to golf on my own as a teenager with a licence. 15 yrs.
I learnt about ten years later that the Pro that i was working with had been prosecuted for molesting kids. As far as i was concerned he was a nice guy and never did wrong by me.

But it highlights the fact you just can't tell. And you have to decide as a Parent how much rope your gonna give your kids. You can keep them on a tight leash and have your kids resent you as they grow. Or you can give them free reign and cry when they get burned.
Don't try for something in the middle. Its highly unlikely you'll find it that satisfies the kids and keeps them completely safe.

Ok my big peeve is! The federal government want to tax miners here in the West and QLD to pay us all extra supper that will be gobbled up by the stock markets and lost to the greedy ones that run the stock markets?

What Australia needs is more and cheaper housing! There are too many people! Aussie people living in poverty that cant afford to even rent a one bedroom flat? which could be a good thing the way the state and federal governments keep increasing the cost of power? We all may as well find a cave and go back to the stone age,

Agree totally thumbs up

It's getting increasingly tough for single people especially .. we pay the same rent, utilities etc, as couples do conversing

And yet they're complaining too dunno

You can't live cheaply any more, I'm about as frugal as you can get and it's tricky sigh

I agree not much different in NZ. But the problem with living in a cave is you need a stay at home partner for security reasons.
Where are you going to find one of those in this day and age of equality. laugh

Waste of time putting in a security alarm or having insurance.

"Was the door locked ?."

"Ahh no its a cave".

"OH OK. Well would you look at that we have a mass Suicide over on the other side of Town. We'll be back as soon as possible. Bye"

Ring Ring
"Hello I'masham Insurance"

"Yes?"

"My Cave has just been Burgalled"

"OK Was the Door locked and the alarm set"

"Its a cave!"

"OK well I'm sorry but your policy doesn't cover theft if the premise has an open door policy"

BillyFatwas: There would be no other country in the world that has such a wide variety of sport to participate in as Australia has. There are 4 football codes alone and at a senior level soccer is way behind Aussie Rules and Rugby League as far as popularity goes.

And popularity sells newspapers and generates television ratings........ which equates to dollars and cents for those codes. Also, the media is renowned for placing something on a pedestal just so they can tear it down again. It's business.

It's unlikely we'll ever become a world force at soccer; we simply don't have the numbers to be competitive against some countries where the game is the only sport.

Trouble is the bloody press builds them up to be a chance which is impossible the way things are now! my ex had a trial for Manchester United but did not make it! but over here he played for the best team at the time Juventus.Things have not changed in that time much.

What worries me now is the pressure on our team is tremendous and no team needs that, and yes all those armchair critics give me the pip, they really are pathetic.

Oh and those Horns they are terrible, Hoons With Horns grin

the horns are rotten, but when you look closely at it,most of those people dont hav a cent in the world, and they never will hav,and when you can buy a novelty over there for a few cents, they think its great, and theyre having aball expressing themselves to the world.gotta admit though, they should hav put noise reduction insulators inside the mouthpiece

Yeah, well getting to trial with Man U is a fair achievement. Must have been a handy player.

And I used to let the press really get to me as well. Ripping a newspaper to pieces or chucking a brick at the TV always crossed me mind but sanity usually prevailed. (I still disfigure the pic of somebody who pisses me offlaugh ) But the Press really is a two edged sword; either you need 'em or you don't need 'em.

As for those horns.... when I first heard them I thought there was something wrong with me TV. Hope they don't make our shelves this Christmas.roll eyes

Possibly that's so but I wouldn't thnk those who could afford the tickets to be at the games would fall into that catagory. I just think that they have a tradition that they like. I'm sure you 've been to games where the other teams suporters had a way of expressing themselves that you found odd or annoying - and probably the other way around too.

Many crouds sing, ring bells, hoot horns, beat drums, it's all different.

The thing I LIKED best that surprised me watching another crowd was in rugby at Munsters stadium where the crowd dropped into dead silence every time a kicker lined up to attempt to kick the ball between the posts. Most crowds boo or whistle to try to put the kicker off but they were dead silent - was sooooo cool. I realy respected that.

Anyone else got a story about a crowds actions they LIKED?
