I think there is. My parents were a perfect example. They should never have gotten married to one another much less have kids together (course if they didn't I wouldn't be here). They loved one another, hated one another, married and divorced one another (twice over) and still can't stay away from one another....sad kinda.

It sounds to me, from what you're describing, that the situation translate more into lust than 'chemical attraction', IMO.
If a relationship is 'bad', it stands to reason that one or the other should leave it. Is it easy? No. But life is made up of hard choices.

In a nutshell, they are insecure, lack confidence, and afraid of the future. If the relationship is bad, it's not a relationship.

Ok maybe i did not explain it well..........We can have the most awsome times together. We can talk till 6 in the morning but then we are both stubborn and especially he is (no really) He cheated and that is the main prob for me. But then we start talikng and it is good. I also feel sorry for him he is a bit messed up.We are not together anymore but we still have a very strong connection.Was just wondering why it is. We were together for a year. Chemical and psychic attractions do exists and they can be powerful determinants of behavior.
BUT
As a sentient being you do have choices and if you (or anyone else) choose to believe 'I can't stop thinking of him' well, guess what ... that's the self fulfilling prophecy you make and will make come true for you!
