Yeah, those came out a little after my time as a kid, we had to build and customize our own stuff back in the day...enjoyed every minute of it though...

We customized our bikes too...take a part from one, add another part...paint em...no brakes but your feet....was cool and sometimes came apart but you had great bragging rights if you were all skinned up, bruised and bleeding!

Yeppers, ... bike races too, I won a few with an old 10 speed that I stripped down... got in a few wrecks with that, we didn't have helmets then either.
