truecolors122861: you know it is really kinda sad i read all you pos t on your post that know no one knows the menaing of
un
conditional

to not be necessary to the occurrence of another
without limits

Course we know the meaning of unconditional, which is why people believe it is not possible.

If you had no conditions on the person you loved, then you would be ok with them abusing your kids, doing drugs, robbing you to do the drugs, drunk all the time, beating you up every day, carving up your pets for fun, really bad hygiene, not working, crapping in your bed, and peeing in the kitchen sink.

If all this is ok with you, then you go ahead and live with someone like that, but it isn't ok in my book, so I, like most other people, have conditions, the conditions being, that they don't do any of that, or other anti-social stuff.

I would only do that if someone started complaining about the toilet seat being up or down, the rest I agree with.laugh

Laura25: I disagree.

What people want in their potential partner comes from the sense of preferences/attraction/comparability.

Not to voice it is a deception.

Compromise comes into play when a couple is already dating or even together.

Dating is not a charity act.

I personally think the most perfect love is one which permits no conditions, expectations, or evaluations of any kind. angel blushing purple heart

Cheer us; that kind of love DOES still exist!!!! Never give up hope and just enjoy the auditions enroute to finding it. it's still around. Get on over to I-25, make a right, go 78 miles and go fishing awhile. You never know WHO you'll run into when you go for a nice dip in the Springs at the end of the day or who you'll encounter there around T or C. Keep your eyes, mind and heart open and anything can happen. Good luck, enjoy the ride.wave

Most people only have one condition to life:

ME FIRST!!!

If both people expect to get their way the majority if not all of the time there is no hope.

I was lucky to see good examples growing up.

I try (try mind you, not always succeeding) to live what I learned growing up.

Hi Laura25 , I agree that " Not to voice it is a deception " my purpose with this post was to point out that we ( collectively ) want different things today.......and .....is that a good thing ? TTT

SoldierByte: If she asks MY advice about that marriage...
I'd tell her that unless she wants to be preached to,
told how to think, be, and do..
has no mind of her own..
and likes her decisions MADE for her..RUN the hell away from you..!!!
Always glad to help a lady...
and of course this is MY opinion.. yours may vary..

neversaydie: We had a saying many years ago which was "When poverty comes in the front door, love goes out the back door." This says it all as far as I am concerned.

Yes, self reflection, is very much a heart felt inner reckoning....
we in the end, have to do it, as painful as it must be...and yet how refreshing, to know oneself, just somewhere down the road...many roads, it will take, there is something in this world and until we grasp what it is, we must always look inside..no matter the pastures..

[Selfless love] would have to mean that you derive no personal pleasure or happiness from the company and the existence of the person you love, and that you are motivated only by self-sacrificial pity for that person’s need of you. I don’t have to point out to you that no one would be flattered by, nor would accept, a concept of that kind. Love is not self-sacrifice, but the most profound assertion of your own needs and values. It is for your own happiness that you need the person you love, and that is the greatest compliment, the greatest tribute you can pay to that person.

“Playboy’s Interview with Ayn Rand,” March 1964.
