bestbefore: I entered this thread purely and simply to state that I was not happy about Bible quotes being plastered over 10 pages of threads on a single site.
The poem as such is fine as it introduces a theme for people to discuss,but there was no discussion,just quotes from a religious book which I personally was not happy with.

if someone likes cheese why would it cause acrimony?
if it does wouldnt that be seen as intolerance?
if folks dont like to hear about it they should stay out of the threads and if they are really passionate about not hearing the issue here they should go to admin since they make the categories

I dont understand what the problem is. There is a catogory here for Religion, Spirituality and Philosophy as there are other categories for different areas of interest.

would you really spend your valuable time that way?

Well maybe I've been around a lot longer than most people on C.S.

I see your point. But the way I see it, if this is an area of interest for someone they are entitled to it, and also to qoute any book they like as people do on threads about any other subject. Its just a pity that every time any one does this it is subjected to ridicule every time. If someone does not like it, they should leave it alone, as they would with any other subject. In regards to "not forcing to listen" how about "forcing to see" by putting the title in all CAPITOLS in bold black lettering so it is the main thing you see when you view the forums?
Somebody will debate this, but how about acting like TROLL's by their actions of just using repetitive quotes from scripture and being told that and then continue doing it for ... pick a reason-

Your singling me out when I was not the only one who was against them, but I am the one who did follow up instead of just making a single negative posting. I did go after them in regards to their actions and you see there maybe was some eye-opening from their side before it was over. So maybe you can say there was some good in it or maybe not depending on your viewpoint.

I really do agree with you here, Mindful, why do people get so worked up when they see a thread that they dont like? There are some people here who really do have a big problem with religious people , but its their problem, they just cant leave it alone! They are just as intolerant as some religious nuts!

Well said and I also agree with mindful. It is very simple, if I don't like a thread, I choose not to participate on it. If I pass by a certain religious group on the street to which I happen to disagree, I will not start shouting at them or disrespecting their beliefs. The same should apply here, if you don't believe in God, just move on to the next thread, there are plenty here!
I am not a religious person, but I do believe in God, on my own way, I saw what the OP posted and found it beautiful and in my opinion true, and although I disagree with many things that Christians do and preach I still see the beauty on what was posted.
Also just as a reminder, CS has a RELIGION, SPIRITUALITY AND PHYLOSOPHY forum dedicated to whoever wants to post about these subjects, and the OP posted it there, not elsewhere, so if you are not religious and do not believe in God is very simple, just keep away. If you are entitled to not to believe in something, wouldn't the same principle apply otherwise?
We should all practice more tolerance, the world would be a much better place.
