Oh dear... I admire that you think so, but IMO it´s totally naive. A jealous person can totally wreck a good relationship, it´s not harmless at all, if you ask me...

It's hard to find the right words but something like wanting to belong to each other without it being forced. Having the comfort of knowing the other person is there and wanting them to feel the same.

The way you feel when you hold them close even when you are not touching them.

what u describe here is a feeling of connecting and not possessing... there is a huuuuge difference in my opinion... one is based on the intention of protecting ourselves from fear and hurt and the other is based on the intention to be open for learning... the choice we have is to allow ourselves to do through LOVE (connecting) or to do through FEAR (possessing) JMO wine

Healthy possessive means you love and care. Unhealthy means you want to control.
You posess your wife because she wants you to? But she is her own person always.
Surrender your sovereignty in love and you both enjoy it?

No-one posseses anyone.

If you love someone, set them free....Even though it hurts.

I don't think anyone should be too possessive. But if you go away for a week and you are not missed, you may have a problem. laugh

demonfairy: What degree of possessiveness do you think is healthy in a relationship?

It depends on who you are dating.
I know some couples who don't even know how much money their partner earns. Others I know are totally inseperable in word action and thought.

There's a difference between wanting to be someone's favourite person and wanting to inhabit their every thought and action. A lot of it comes down to self confidence and trust I guess.

True, but the word "possessive" has that hint on a right to control what you "possess".

You can only be possessed if you wish to be, and sometimes there's nothing wrong with letting in the demons
