lovely4u7da: what a good thread, it was never about being or having balance look at the eastern world they have the man doing their thing and the woman doing what the man wants them to and they stay married longer, dont have a lot of issues
When we let women's lib in it cost us something and now we see what the price is and cant afford it
Let our men be men and help us it is not going to hurt us or cost us anything to let them be just what God created them to be MEN our western mind set(attitude I got it) is why many of us are along
It is going to take the woman to turn this thing around we started it we should finish it
Show me a society where there was no woman's lib and the man has complete power over the woman AND there are no issues of that power being abused.
I personnaly CAN afford the price of my freedom. And so can many women I know. Equality is simple, or at least it should be ... It's the way the human brain works that isn't, especially when things get worked out by the ego instead of the heart.
EagleWoman: There are extemists on every subject and area. Woman's lib is not about extremism it's a bout a man and woman doing the same job earning the same money. It's about a woman not having to have her's husband's written consent before studying, opening a bank account or buying land or property. It's about a woman being able to makes decisions that pertain to herself or her body without needing permission from her husband etc...
Let's not get confused about what women's lib was and is about!!
Women's lib was and is about: A.) Enabling the other half of the population to pay taxes too B.) Enabling children to believe and realize that government is their provider and family instead of mom and pop (promotes socialism)

Was that the hidden agenda in europe? And does it work like that in all socialist regimes?
anywho, will you women make up your minds please? some of you women want to do everything on your own while some of you want us men to do everything. you know we men get confused very easily

Communication Mnowsa!!! When you meet a woman as her "Do you like to do everything on your own or do you like the man to do everything?"
Me I'd like a balance. Trouble is I'm happier with a shovel in the garden than doing housework!! So as Jac said if we could share both that would be great!!

talking about my situation:
single mum, well paid full time job, homeowner and having a car.
maximum freedom.
if something is to be fixed around the house, I pay for it. if my car breaks, I pay for it. if my boss is mad at me, I pay for it. if my girl is mad at me, I pay for it....bigtime
no need for a man really because I pay for all the things that need to be fixed or replaced.
but there is one thing that can't be paid for and that is love.
after a hard days work, there is the love of my child and my cat. that is priceless.
not sure about the love of a man. so far, I've never met a man who does things for me out of love. In a way, I always had to pay.
scottyburd: Why not try it....you could be amazed lass...
Don't know Scotty!!!
I became little miss independent after I split up from father of my children. When we met I was totally dependent on him in a foreign country. As time went by and I started finding my feet and working and therefore less "dependent" on him, with own circle of friends and may be the odd activity without him, he couldn't adjust to the changes. Eventually, we separated.
Since then I have stayed away from "being taken care of" by any man.
