I figure about now, Springguy might not be liking

how this thread turned out.

I was just offering the perpsective that, while this thread

may not have been a stroke of social genious(sp?)(ironic?),

we do often see very much worse.

springguy: People I have already explained myself on page 2 please read.
I guess this will teach me not to start any threads & not
crawl out of my hole.
I'm educated and started out with excellent phonics, which I have always believed gave me a good edge with spelling and writing. I aced writing 101 through 323 in college, and did not find it difficult. I am in the minority, and recognize this. Most people have awkward to poor spelling and writing skills. I don't think anyone was putting you down for the question, it's a sore subject with some, and also, pales in the dim moonlight compared to current events. As a side comment, sophomoric communication used to bug me quite a bit, too, and then one day, people's feelings became more important than their vernacular and written skills. Loving from the heart makes writing and spelling ability a non issue to me now.

I used it because it is unpleasant and degrading.

That was the point.

Laura25: The brush is too wide, Jac.

It pays to at least try to listen and select the brush accordingly, because if you don't, it only feeds the prejudice.

I know you are very passionate about this subject, but so am I. Even thought I might make it look like I am jesting.

Back to work for me, can't discuss it now... though I'd liked to.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "the brush is too wide".

I don't understand how challenging you calling people stupid, ignorant, lazy and disrespectful feeds prejudice.

I thinks its the very use of those words that feeds prejudice.

I have noticed that when I challenge your posts, you rebuff and leave. You never discuss with me.

How can I listen, if you won't talk?

springguy: Is it just me or are any other people bothered by
all the typo's? I know i've got to much time on my
hands..right? In any case here's a tip.
Firefox browsers have a spell checker that runs
as you type. {we now return you to our
regularly scheduled program}

As a newspaper editor, it drives me bonkers. It is not just regular typos, but missed words and wrong words used. For instance, do you know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're"? How about its and it's?

There's my two cents worth.

I know, even with out the ill intent... it's still in poor

taste, even for me.

I'm sorry.

Write, wright, right, see, sea, where, wear, were...

They're typical dyslexic mistakes and maybe as many as 10% of the population have some level of dyslexia.

I am perfectly aware of the differences, but I still make those mistakes, time and time again.

My proof reading doesn't catch them all and I proof read from the beginning of my post every time I finish a line, or a paragraph.
