Thought we had better have a thread on this as it could so easily happen here.

There are posts in other forums about the new population of young adults that have been brought up with no discipline in their lives.... meaning in my eyes no consequences for their actions be it by the laws in the UK that it is an offence to smack or punish your child or that the feral parents let their offspring run wild with no boundaries as they just dont care.

I am of the old school as I believe that children need to be guided on how to act in society reared with love and care yet taught how to behave with their peers and if they misbehave there has to be consequences that is carried out in the animal kingdom this is nature.

Its a world gone mad, teachers are instructed to do nothing as well....yet in the media and everywhere there is violence and murder WHAT IS THAT TELLING OUR YOUNGSTERS.
I dont know anymore.

It seems the perpetrators in the riots will only get a sentence of a few weeks which is just enough to give them respect and standing with their peers.

A lot of gangs exist because they need conformity in their lives a family if you will ,the Kids need to belong somewhere anywhere.

And so it goes on and on through the generations..... in the end a breed of Zombies no feelings no love no nothing.................if this madness keeps up and gets worse this could be one of the outcomes.

sigh sigh sigh

I, as many of us did, got the cane at school and a back hander from the old man if you stuffed up. Harsh guidance but you never intended on going back for seconds. If most of theses rioters are teenagers, where are there parents who are meant to be resopnsible for there kids?

Sounds similar to that incident a few years ago at Redfern confused

Where that boy was being pursued by the police, he wound up impaling himself on a fence, subsequently died and riots followed sigh

there are conflicting reports in so far as if the man shot at the officer or not. He's reported as being a drug dealer blah blah, his family describe him as a loving family man, who wouldnt hurt a fly.

So the riots started when the family went to the police station and demanded answers. When they didnt see an officer that was ranked high enough, they vandalised a police car.... thats supposed to have been the start of all this... if the media is to be believed.

As for the kids on the streets having a free for all. Reports place them as young as 9 !!!! totally dreadful. The parents have alot to answer for. Seems that the reason for the riot is no longer relevant, rather now, its just a free for all, go burn, steal, loot destroy something, or someone.

Very very sad

I hope they catch the lot of them, and they all miss out on about 10years.

As for the parents, they should be ashamed.

And if that is the reason, they should take a look at places in Third World countries if they think they're doing it tough.

Well they dont seem to know how to behave any other way, when you look at how the soccer fans react when they lose. It seems to be thier answer to everything...riot and looting!!!

The ppl who have lost their cars, homes and businesses will not be covered for insurance. This will be classed as a riot or an act of terrorism, no insurance.

It is only a matter of time until this happens in Aust and NZ.

Hi Shell.wave

If the rioting was not enough, I hate that I read that some made ordinary people strip off... I think that is very disgusting.. Shows a totally lack of human compassion... sad flower

In brief the cops shot an unarmed man, well that is the excuse anyway. Riots happen when the economy falls apart and there are way too many unemployed people unable to foresee a future. This is population unrest and it has absolutely anything to do with parenting. Yes Martia expect to see it here as well if we hit another major recession or worse a depression. wine

No one's perfect but I couldn't imagine my kids, or those of many people I know, setting light to peoples' property and causing injury, distress and heartache in general, under any circumstances confused

I guess your kids have grown up been able to get employment and education. They’ve never seen you in the unemployment cue…etc It all plays a major impact. Over the last 20 years or so we have seen the same unrest amongst youths in socialist and communist countries. Are we to blame parenting there as well? wine
