Vulpine: Or do you actually read other people's inputs as well??
i read every post in a thread before I post, whenever time permits; which isn't often. Of interest to me in some threads are post by people I find interesting so I'll peruse their stuff usually.
Do we all just splurge what we're thinking out, *just* for the therapy of it??? Does anybody care that they're being heard or not?? Do folks care that other people may have spent considerable time in replying to the post, in order to get feed-back, and insight into their own personal thinking?
Are you one of these people who wonders why the hell you bothered in the first place, and the individual therapy of writing your response just isn't worthwhile??

It depends on how the thread has gone.
Usually, I'll read the first page and see if it's a 'dead in the water' thread, and if not, I'll carry on reading. If the original topic's been lost due to chatter or "my so and so is bigger/better/faster than yours", then I'll reply to the OP.
Sometimes though, a point is raised, that didn't come from the OP, or any of their posts, that actually does deserve a reply, more than the OP does.

Good answer! Just wondering what we all think...and how we think. Also wondering is there any sense of actual good will out there to give a little bit of feed-back, back, when we can. Or if it's a case of everybody actually living in their own non-interactive bubble...and being so dumb as to wonder why the sites like this.
Thanks galrads for your comment. I totally understand what you mean about time permitting...

95% of the times I only answer to the OP. I do read the other posts but "read" is a big word, there, for glancing or speed-reading. I try to avoid answering the other posters because most of the time my comments are taken out of context and we all know how people just LOVE to get offended.

Actually yeah you're right cynical. People can 'get-on' about themselves, or just throw on some rubbish in order to gain attention or whatever, so yep...quicker they're sidelined the better, so getting back to the OP makes sense then.
Just overall, I tend to look at something like this as a sort-of ad-hoc 'barometer' as to our overall level of civilisation. It's so easy for everyone to be more or less themselves, whether that be good or bad.

Ha! There's another reason people just refer direct to the OP. Didn't think of that one either!! So, are we, I mean, do you find people tend to be so immature quite often, that they LOVE to get offended?? Again, just one more chance to be noticed...?

Not immature but sometimes holier than thou. But this is the Internet and if the internet had kids the elder would be named Misunderstanding, the other Boasting and the third one Dismissing... (Internet with kids )

Mermaidon, you could say that being 'Holier Than Thou' is still really a sign of insecurity and immaturity...anyway, that's just semantics (is that spelled right???) But yeah, ha! I get what you mean re. Misunderstanding, Boasting and Dismissing...that's Youtubevilled for ya!
