Hi Nature wave

Probably sounds a bit odd, but when my marriage had become particularly shabby, my daughter who was then 18 and had moved in with her boyfriend, advised that I put an end to it while I still had a reason to .. my 15 year old son.

What she meant was, she thought that once he was old enough to move out I would probably stay in the marriage and resign myself to being unhappy and sadly, she was probably right doh

Best advice I've ever had thumbs up

Hi Serene wave

A good boss of mine once said to me "everybody is replaceable" and he so correct and have always remembered that as some people think in their jobs, no one could ever replace and do their job and yet every job and position is replaceable wine

I have been give lotsa good advice...

When I was growing up... it was 'save your pennies'..didn't do much good coz the currency changed... n after that lost them all playing poker..

Then when I was a teen... it was ... 'dont put all that muck on your face, you'll look like a dried out prune before your old'. that was so uncool when I was a teenager. blah blah

Then when I got married it was... 'make sure you cook a nice meal everynight... you want your hubby to be proud of you'.. doh truth is, he would have rather had liquid dinner... ( nah, I'm jokin..) but Jeez, what a carryon... and at the time, I believed it..doh

Then when I had my first baby.... Jaysus, I am not even gonna start on that one... frustrated

Always make 5 times what you pay for something, if the item you're interested in will sell for $100 and they are selling it for $40, knock them down to $10 and then work back up to $20 that way the minimum you'll make is $80 profit on the $20 you invest.
Before this advice, I was working on 2 times my purchase price and always chasing my tail.

We work on 2.2X it gives a healthy GP and allows for discounting/giveaways which is an evil necessity in our industry sigh
