vinny1967: Yeah its been a very weird season to be honest. Toure was a big loss for City at a time of the season they needed him. They have done well to stay in there though and I certainly did not see Utd letting it slip the way they have. Very surprised that Liverpool and Chelsea have not done better, particularily the Pool.Abramovich is not going away and I think he will spend big again this summer. The three promoted teams have added to the league and its very unusual for them all to stay up, which seems likely. I just hope City go on and win it now.
Thats true. I think Swansea particularly have been a joy to watch.
blumoon: Ironically big fat Sam is most likely wetting himself with glee as he could be the manager of the team about to replace one that sacked him
Yeah I agree Noel they probably would not be in this position. Hard to like Big Sam though with his modesty and the way he seems to pander to 'Ol red nose's whim

He may not be modest but he is a good manager in my opinion. He did a good job at Blackburn and at Bolton before that. He was even being talked about as a prospect for England manager before Steve McClaren got the nod. I know its a bit premature to say this but It wouldn't surprise me at all if he kept West Ham up this time next season.

In fairness most of that chat came from him Yeah I agree he organises his teams well and his players know their jobs. Their styles can be a tad direct though. If they come up it would not surprise me either although I think the promoted teams will find it tough given last years promoted teams have done so well and will have learnt a lot.

True. I think Swansea, Norwich and QPR (if they hopefully stay up) could find it a bit more difficult next season. Second season syndrome has been a problem for a few.
vinny1967: Jeez K I wish I had your confidence about Arsenal
West Brom will already have their holiday head on. The players heads will be on the beach. Arsenal need a result and lots of the players will be heading for the Euros so no holidays on the mind.

I don't know. We are playing crap and in one way I wouldn't mind us not qualifying. Could give Wenger the kick in the hole he needs

You say that now but when it comes to the the CL nights in Sept you would be kicking yourself. Especially now Barca look beatable and the cup is basically up for grabs.

I know and especially if Spurs beat us to it.
But Arsenal don't deserve to qualify. Maybe it will be the shock Wenger needs to actually go back to building a team like the Invincibles with high quality signings mixed with youth. By qualifying he may just keep doing what he is doing and none of the supporters want that from what I can see.

I was thinking the same about United not winning anything this season. I am hoping it will give Alex and the board a kick to make them realise they need a quality midfield player and a right full.
But I honestly would prefer to win the league and worry about next season in August.
