felixis99: I think I understand what you mean. Even with a reprsentative form of gov't not all interests are going to be representated equally, and everyone (both American and non American) is going to have their own interests. Many don;t pay attention to the gov't at all....in a way we are responsible because we voted for our politicians. So we are responsible to voice our opinions & to vote but many opt out of that and therein is a danger of our country be run by active special interest groups - when the common man no longer participates
BTW Boban I happen to be a hug fan of our Western movies! (cowboy boots & levis) do you ever watch them?
No, ...you, me and any other voter have been manipulated in some way...we still believe that they actually care about us ...
felixis99: it's interesting that you should say that! most everyday Americans are sctually pretty removed from gov't (just liek anywhere else)
unless they have a son or daughter overseas in the military - even then all we care about really is the safety of our relative...obviously I can't speak for all Americans but that is my observation
I have to watch what's going on in government because I am a senior citizen and right now the government is thinking about a big change to the Social Security system which will also effect Medicare. All I can do is vote for the right Senator or march on Washington. Picture me marching on the Mall in Washington with my trusty little cane in one hand and a sign in the other hand.
Among many reasons for liking the USA one stands out above anything else, for me anyway. It gave the world the greatest entertainer ever, the King! One bad thing? It's 3,000 miles away!!

good for you! I think seniors are the best people to be active - many have the time to really watch what is going on AND the knowledge and experience as Americans to participate in a meaningful way!

Zebaztian: You have to say one bad thing about the country, and one good thing. Just don't say only one thing. If you do that, you will be blocked immediately!
I like their marshallows.
I don't like their double standard of morality.
Bad thing their fat women, good thing they are trying to change the world to something better.

Good thing: I am reading American Professors mostly when I am interested in learning something of good quality when it comes to science. Also, the entire thing about the American revolution is really nice, especially what came out of it, among other things their constitution.
Bad thing: All the unjust blood on their greedy hands. I hope the people know that in foreign affairs, the state represent the people, and on the behalf of the people, not only when the people choose them to, but 24/7, or if they voted on the particular government.
