Why is the right to vote in need of a law or act? And why to we distrust the media on Monday yet fully beloved them when it's condusive to our line of thinking on Tuesday? Americans are truly mindless.

So true! In the US Costitution, there is no absolute right to vote, for anyone, the 13th and 15th Amendments not withstanding,; the language is very ambivalent. Why it was written with such a multitude of interpretations is beyond the comprehension of both the citizens and govt. of the US. Perhaps it would be best to finally put a absolute end to all ambivalence of language and to leave no room for any interpretations except one that will finally be made law for the entire country. Call for a Constitutional Convention and thrash it out once and for all, meaning delegates and citizens do not leave until it is done...IF it is worth doing at all. Might just be easier for some group to take power and announce the US Constitution null and void; appoint a dictator and go on from there. Many, it seems, would prefer that to allowing the current President and the current state of affairs to continue. Sometimes, for a nation to survive, they, the people and/ or the government must risk making it/ themselves over into something else. Dictatorship of one sort or another is a way to finally do this. What is the age old adage...'to save all, one must risk all' is one or one could go with, 'let justice be done and let the Heavens fall', is another. Lots of choices, but one must be made at long last. It'll clear the air....

These people don't read anything longer than a comic strip, besides, the book is long out of print and the writer way out of style. Act One is already in place with the 'Corpo' power brokers...now, where is the new version of Haik...if any had the nerve...
He's saying "why should congress be continually passing a temporary measure forcing certain states to give the vote to people who already have the right to vote and who cannot be denied the right to vote under current law. Time to treat all states equally again and let the wound heal instead of reopening it every few years.

galrads: ...as far as I'm concerned about voting rights, any individual who doesn't own property shouldn't be allowed to vote. That's the way it was and should be again, here.
Yeah, right.
And those who own more property should naturally have more votes. One vote per acre sounds about fair, don't you think?
nucyncegene: The US gov has spent so much, the money ran out long ago, now they borrow the money to give away and we just get the bills for the interest on all that debt.
They will always be able to pay their debts and the interest.
At least as long as the paper and ink hold out to print up more monopoly money.

Houston we got a problem here.
If I had a shared property, how are we going to vote? And I am talking about family and even so that can be a problem.

The problem is that this would grant even more power to the boomers - the same generation that created the mess we're in today. In reality, the salvation of the West and its Democracy will not happen until this generation is mercifully silenced by the grave - we want them all away!

Yep...boomers and women. god forbid they have any more power than they already have
