Of course, it doesn`t protect against scammer and false....but it becomes clear quite fast. And I can say that about 50 and up - it is scammer favorite age too.

Some may be as you say hiding, some may have a legitimate reason for not putting one up. I prefer not to interact privately with guys who have no pic up and have stated so on my profile. Doesnt stop them mailing me, I assume they arent surprised when I dont respond.

You are correct there are reasons I am sure that are legit. I have no problem with them not having a photo, then after a few emails I find that it is difficult to converse with a photoless profile. First, let's not pick on faceless Irish blokes; you only notice those because those are who you talk to. If you were in Canada, or Indonesia, or South Africa, or the UK, you'd be saying the same thing about faceless guys from there, right? So let's not knock the Irish guys.
Or maybe we should. Fact is, decades have passed since most anyone lacked the capacity to upload some sort of photo, so "I can't" won't wash anymore. That leaves "I don't want to." Well, why not? If they wanna talk to you, why not?
Yes CS offers a faceless policy; good for them. And perhaps there are times when a member might need to hide their face (being stalked by some crazy weirdo, perhaps).
But let's face it (pardon the joke): virtually all with no pic are either hiding from someone or something, or, their given details like age, race, height, weight, are wildly wrong.
Many on CS, especially many women, have a personal policy: "No pic, no play." I think that's wise. If you get contact from some faceless entity, you should be polite, but not inviting. And if you get further contact, you should stop being polite.

1) Already with someone/married
2) Ugly as Sin
3) Both 1) and 2)!
As for legitimate reasons... meh that's a moving target.... I;ve heard that from 1 or two ... then later they put up a photo..

I was on one other site... where you HAD to upload a photo. And not only that, if you certified yourself (ie send a photo holding up a handwritten date and username on it), the profile got a mark saying you were legit.

perhaps they are in a position where being associated with CS could be a black mark against them. Like shoolteachers or doctors .

Some of the best dreams have not seen the light of day. they were immobilized from fear.
I did not have a picture up for months. And slowly but surely I put one up a little at a time. Fear is why. Fear of people saying "ewww" fear of pics being out on the internet. I still got mail so I stayed. I did not post on the forums for awhile. When I started posting I became comfortable so that helped me to put up a pic. I remember going to our local park to meet a guy who had contacted me when I had no pic. The funny thing is he had a pic so I had an idea of who I was looking for. There was a woman who looked about fifteen years older than me, alot shorter and quite wider there and he was talking to her. She was upset. He thought it was me and she was confused He turned and seen me and when I spoke the next words out of his mouth were " Wow you are one classy looking woman" not sure if that was a compliment or not 
To make a long story even longer he had shrank by about four inches (seems to happen alot when you take them from the net to the tactile world something transpires and they shrink ) and he smoked which he told me he did not. I could of gotten past those things. But he had hair growing out of his ears so long it could of been used for a diving board at the local pool. pics are just decoration. Some people really have legit reasons. I am under contract and can only say ever so much about my job on the net or news etc....does that mean I do not have a legit job? My poor ol tired body begs differ I know I work. 
Do as you please. Think as you please. It does not change what is the truth. You take chances on the internet, in real life. You have to decide what chances. But don't slight people and see everyone as evil who does not have a pic. That is painting your picture not theirs and you seem like to smart a person for that.

hi happy i was going to see if CS would put a mustache on my picture but if i were to meet someone thy would be looking for someone with a mustache so i guess i wont do that heehe

However, I prefer with photo Age, tall, education, occupation - these things almost always could be with + and -. I seem, more with -. No one is perfect. Yes, but of it don`t must afraid.
