pedro27: they are God's creatures and should be valued as that, they have a cycle of life too and important, even if we don't think

I like that Pedro, thank you, even though I am not religious following a book handshake hug

We have to live, we have to act to live, but as the dominant species, claiming intelligence and empathy, these acts should always be showing responsibility and honesty.

sofarsogood74: No it wouldn't as we are the same species so you could easily empathise with me. As our brains work the same way and we both experience the same emotions....But you cant know that about rodents as you don't know how they feel....and you can't claim to know. You are sticking human emotions in a rodent which is ridiculous.

So if I stick a knife to a mouse's belly, then begin to slowly cut it open, and I hear its screams, it is not pain as you would feel pain when someone sticks a knife into your belly?

That's Descartes arguing, but like I said, suit yourself.

Never said they dont feel physical pain did I? Can you point that out to me? I said they dont have our emotions! But you are talking about them like they think like us!

Do they cut open rodents bellies when they are alive in animal testing?

, yes we were giving the power over any other living thing, and it's beautiful to know and to have that order in regards to any living creature big or small.

Yes power can be a wonderful thing, if it is used in a caring and responsible manner. The difference between the abuser or the guardian thumbs up gift

Oh I understand you and others like you. You make claims about animals like they have emotions on a human level which of course you can't know.

You make claims of acts such a dissection of live animals without any proof. You value the life of rodents as much as a human life and would gladly give up all the medical break throughs that have made many peoples lives longer and easier to save to rodents that would not have existed if they were not bred for a purpose. doh

Where did I make the claim they have the same 'emotions'?
You know.. you are all over the place with your arguments. One moment you say you do not support suffering, then you say you don't mind it for rodents because they are not the same species (unless I misunderstood you, very possible as we also do not seem to be of the same species), but cows are not the same species either, but they deserve to not be subjected to suffering as you say (rightly in my view).

Is it size or colour that makes a creature worthy of your judgement who should and shouldn't be subjected to suffering?
Sorry, just asking uh oh

My stand is that other creatures are capable of feeling pain and fear, regardless of their size or colour, and because I believe they can feel such, I feel deeply for them when they do suffer
You were able to follow me this far? *hopes!*
Humans need to live too and wish to survive as best as they can, which means they are ultimately not able to avoid bringing death to other creatures, but due to humans claiming intelligence and empathy, I believe humans should try everything they can to keep any suffering to an absolute minimum. To call other creatures 'vermin' or the like is in my view counter productive, as humans -again in my view- should openly address their own impact on other beings, and not look away, not find excuses, but look at it clearly, so that better ways can be found, which hopefully will lead to less suffering of those other species.

I am getting high from paint fumes... Not sure whether to laugh or cry about having to write this down.
