unlaoised: Mould has been a problem for me on the squash as well, so far kept it at bay with a castille soap mix. Been lucky with the caterpillars, not many and I've been lethal with slugs and snails (hate them!!)

They taste so good home grown, don't they? Not many tomatoes making it as far as the kitchen, I'm eating them off the plant

I planted the pumpkins outside this year because they just rotted of the plant last year. Filling up a spray bottle with 1/2 cup of milk, 2 tbsp baking soda, filling it up with water has worked well this year. The courgettes are ripe, but the pumpkins outside need a good bit more time, so I hope I'll have some later on.

Any idea how to kill aphids?

They taste really well and I see a lot of tomato soup and mozarella/tomato salad coming up. laugh

Try this...a couple of drops of thyme, peppermint/eucalyptus, clove, and rosemary oils mixed in spray bottle of water and zap them. It worked really well for me.

Also, prop your pumpkins up off the ground, like on a brick or a piece of wood. They keep dryer, less likely to rot.

I'm willing more sunshine to ripen things more. Summer's been too short! Loads of tomatoes still green and I have gorgeous, lush strawberry plants and not a single damned fruit! mumbling

When i was a little lookin i used to cry and carry on to mumma/momma lookin if i found a worm or half worm in my apples crying ... always her response blah just eat the bloody thing!! If the worm is alive it's good for you flex ... I wasn't too upset if i found a worm ..... ok yes i was crying elephant but was always curious if i found a half one barf

These days i wish the worms would make a come back...re: all the chemicals needed to kill them and me at the same time blues

Thanks L, I'll try that, have most of these essential oils. Have the pumpkins on a palet to keep them off the ground. All snails in the area use my garden as dating ground. Have never seen so many of them in one place. mumbling

Most tomatoes are still green and I think I'll be drowning in them in about a week. laugh No idea about the strawberries, should they not have been ripe a good while ago? confused

wave I was just thinking about that, given we're just moving into spring now conversing

You and KN have inspired me to have yet another crack at growing some veg .. so many large trees around here that my gardens beds are in shade most of the day.

Driveway is the sunniest spot, maybe I could plant em in pots and use the car as a glasshouse laugh
