LadyLori: Usually one starts hurling insults when one feels they are loosing ground.

It also can be a ploy to try and divert the person it was directed at, to react in an equally immature and insulting manner.
However, I am classy & smart enough to not take your bait. And that, sir, is how a woman with logic, a bit more advanced than a 2 year old, handles an argumentative & insulting person.
An unwarranted insult is also a way to end what was prior, an interesting, good & mature debate.

May I just say religion and spiritualism are two separate matters...it would be wise of you to know the difference,...as lady lori mentioned it is god that guides us,..any person can believe in god of their own making it is what the person believes to aspire to,....so agent Ajax maybe you just like drawing people out to expand on it some more because you like to differ for arguments sake,,,an atheist might not use the term god but it makes no odds because if a person has faith trust belief within themselves and knows the difference to between what they deem bad and good then that is a goodness and that is what I call god but another might call it zen, Buddha ,nature, .what inspires yourself Ajax,?.

The very definition of faith is the belief in something for which there is no evidence.

I remember several years ago a fellow described in his own words the difference between religion and spirituality to me. He said religion was rules of faith man made and spirituality was a way of life. It was helpful for me at the time. Hi peach.wave

No you are wrong assuming people need another name for god. Morales and knowing the difference between right and wrong is also socially inherent. One countries moral code is very different to another. ..ie) arranged marriages is viewed as morally correct in one while it is immoral in another. The way we treat our animals in the west compared to how they treat them in the eastern and middle eastern countries. ..etc.

We are born without any knowledge and we receive this knowledge through our upbringing. Sometimes we get lucky and we gain knowledge and bit of logic that gives us a more true nature of reality and sometimes we don't.

No belief in anything higher then yourself prevents you from reaching your full potential.

Ajax.. I've been following your comments with some interest
now and you've hidden behind the word 'logic' throughout.
You put human experience in one sphere and to your
mind some pure state of unencumbered perception which
you call logic in another sphere untouched
by the so called feeble opinions of faith.
But your pure source of logic is bogged down in the
muck and mire of human tragedy and ignorance as ever
was. You don't believe in anything and you
have no interest in any truth be it from God,
man, or beast. Your pure logic has given you
no answers no more than it has the hundreds
of secular philosophers of antiquity some of
whom possessed extraordinary powers of 'reason'
which you are hopelessly lacking.
Yours is a fools logic.

if you follow the philosophy of antiquity you would know that the logical arguments are the same as Aristotle and Neitzchy used, mind you Sartre has few good ones as well. Like I said before God does not exist but we do and we are the ones with the power over all living on this earth. We have a choice either pray and die when you're sick or visit a doctor. The old saying it was gods will to take him early went out the door in the last 50 years because today we know better... dont we?

LadyLori: One word: Faith.
And that's good enough for me.

After all, we all need oxygen to live, yet we can't see it....

Faith - - - Hmmm cousins decision, not to see reason, logic and to think critically. To have faith, means to believe in something as abstract as religion teaches us. Even thou, it is wholly flawed, down right vindictive and criminal.

Define your faith oldish lady wine.

With all due respect, I said plenty last night, while "sparring" with the OP, so am not going to indulge in a second round with you. Feel free to scroll up and read any one of my gazillion posts, and that may give you an insight to my faith, and who I am as a person.
Respectfully,
"Oldish Lady"

jaxfix: The best argument for Creation is this: The best documented fact of human history is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Say what you will, something happened at Jesus' tomb that CANNOT be explained in human terms. Now, if that be true - and it IS true - and if Jesus quoted from and gave every indication that He believed the Old Testament, to me, that is the BEST proof possible that everything happened just as it says it did in the Book of Genesis. But, if you don't believe that Jesus is the Christ, don't make any difference: you are doomed.

Oh wow - - - - this is an amazing post. You almost converted me, because you told me that I am doomed. Seriously, I am going to church, the moment I end up with my shift at work.

In response to: I haven't heard one yet!Is it possible to come up with one that is logical.
.what is logic..one claims they are might be called something else tomorrow , world is always evolving we too a person that believes there is no substance to one having faith and dosnt believe in the wording of faith actually has faith because this is what he believes.i hope that made sense in my wording I have faith that it may .wink .i believe it to be I thus have faith in what I have said. Faith can be many thing to many.

Evolution has been proved.. Adam and Eve never existed.. So , if God created man in his own image.. Then God looks kind of like "King Kong".. Still love him though heart beating

In all due respect I am one who loves a good
hard piece of evidence but in all fairness should
not the burden of proof fall to the atheist to prove
such profound and complex subjects such as the exact
moment of creation so as to make it perfectly
clear for all to understand? What I've read so
far in terms of proof from the atheist camp is
nothing more than grand sweeping generalities
and virtually nothing to enhance for the betterment
humanity.
