Hi serene, 
not 50 yet, but my sister is 51.
I didn't see that much change in her in the last 10 years and she doesn't strike me as "oldish", so I can't come up with any assorted other crap I'm afraid.
Only thing I do notice is not a great desire to rock the boat and change things which aren't good in her life, but I do think that has more to do with her attitude than age.

As for me, I am 51 and am almost 52 (in October), and I have no major needs/issues/crap....got rid of that when I got a divorce
I used to fret about getting older-feared so many things, but mostly my own immortality. However, I now relish my life and we're I'm at!
