I try, but as I have got older, my ability to be tactful, while still holding my opinion, has grown less, I find I sometimes offend by my directness these days, but conversely, I have grown a thick skin, so retorts just bounce off me

I think that too many people look at online dating sites as a place to live a fantasy life rather than be themselves. This only gets them more bad karma as karma has an online implication just like real life. No free rides.

I generalise and talk in broader terms to become the most honest.
For instance I don't say to an obese individual that he/she is a gluttonous slug full of tired excuses(the brutal truth). Instead I will try to attack the culture of instant gratification, greed and feelygoods which makes people gluttonous slugs filled with tired excuses.

I am fairly direct and it doesn't always go down well with the locals (I try to be polite though).
I hate BS and lying and if someone doesn't mean what he says does my head in.

I do my best to do that. A good way to observe someone' s honesty is to see if their actions match up with their words. Unfortunately, sometimes it' s rare with some.
