Theresa4tgl: Only because some people don't want to hear all the truths. Most people who claim they are saintly hare hiding in a glad house I've learned. Anyone wanting to point a finger to blame others or claim that everyone else made the. Do it, justifying what they do forget there's 3 fingers point back at them....and a thumb that doesn't know which direction to go.

One thing I've learned! ls ever day I learn something new......and any times learning something new can change a persons view only if they truly want to follow truth. We can only blame ourselves these days for not learning and refusing to share truth.

Cheers! Time to get ready for work!

well I always own up to my misgivings and say the voices made me do it ..... party ........ all of them ......... drinking

I do have a lot of misgivings about those who have no ability to look at the "correct" pronunciations.

I don't never get fussy about that. I make to many mistakes with spellings and sentence structure. Besides.....if I have to figure out what someone is saying that's more intelligent than me......they to need to figure out what I'm saying so I can be brought to a higher level for them. It's a two way communication.....not one...giggle flirty

Halloween or Hallowe'en also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve,] or All Saints' Eve,] is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It initiates the triduum of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. Within Allhallowtide, the traditional focus of All Hallows' Eve revolves around the theme of using "humor and ridicule to confront the power of death."

According to many scholars, All Hallows' Eve is a Christianized feast initially influenced by Celtic harvest festivals, with possible pagan roots, particularly the Gaelic Samhain. Other scholars maintain that it originated independently of Samhain and has solely Christian roots.

In the Celtic-speaking regions they were "particularly appropriate to a night upon which supernatural beings were said to be abroad and could be imitated or warded off by human wanderers".

The "traditional illumination for guisers or pranksters abroad on the night in some places was provided by turnips or mangel wurzels, hollowed out to act as lanterns and often carved with grotesque faces to represent spirits or goblins". These were common in parts of Ireland and the Scottish Highlands in the 19th century, as well as in Somerset (Punkie Night). In the 20th century they spread to other parts of England and became generally known as jack-o'-lanterns.

Considering Australia's mostly Irish linkages to any country (most convicts were Irish), this has not been a tradition really seen here.

Theresa4tgl: Well...lol...for,the love of money of course. Actually art sure has evolved hasn't it!?

"""According to the Coca-Cola company: "For inspiration, Sundblom turned to Clement Clark Moore's 1822 poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" (commonly called "'Twas the Night Before Christmas"). Moore's description of St. Nick led to an image of Santa that was warm, friendly, pleasantly plump and human. For the next 33 years, Sundblom painted portraits of Santa that helped to create the modern image of Santa – an interpretation that today lives on in the minds of people of all ages, all over the world.""""

So no.....coca cola did not create the Santa clause as we know him today.

What a lot of people do not understand due to lack of knowledge is that every single holiday though that are in the so called Christian churches are pagan. My best friend who's pagan pitches a fit over it...lol. It was actually here who brought it to my attention...lol. Constantinople was a smart pagan to use the sign of the cross that that originally belonged to the queen of heaven be sign the used to bring his people and the followers of Jesus together to try and combine them. Many strict followers of Jesus were killed for not converting.....or fled.

Any ole ways! interesting blogs!

Pagan, Muslim, Christian, Atheist, Orthodox, Protestant .... what does any of it really matter ....

Each of these beliefs have bought many special days into so many cultures ... who really cares where the concept came from ...

Missed out again.

I did have 4 kids show up last evening (they are hunting in packs in my area), all dressed up. Being a diabetic (and having a very sweet tooth), no lollies in the cupboard (or anywhere else).

Don't even have sweet biscuits as I get a craving for them once I open a packet, Tim Tams being a 2-day disappearing trick. Thought I would do the smart thing for my son-in-law and bought the individually wrapped Tim Tam packet so he could enjoy 1 (or 2) when he called in.

They cost about 3 times as a normal pack but I got to thinking...okay, the "pack" will not be open and I will not have any. How wrong could I be. Son-in-law called in today and he got nothing.
