Lookin, your contributions have resulted in me and 2dawgz coming to a parting of the ways.

2dawgz has followed your thoughts very closely and after the many years 2dawgz & I have been connected, he does believe you have greater wisdom regarding our co-joined status.

As such, 2dawgz & I will provide out separate opinions and do our best not to agree.

I am looking forward to my "Friday Funny" tomorrow. I recently received a very formal looking letter with an official looking heading with the Aussie Coat of Arms with "Australian Government" written underneath and "Job Services Australia" alongside it.

This tells me I have an appointment tomorrow (Friday) that I must attend or it "can lead to penalty deductions from your payment or a penalty that equates to eight weeks of your income supportif you are deliberately avoiding requirements. This is a notice under Social Security Law."

I have been given a time, a date, a place, a phone number, a person (Antoinette) and a "Format" (Face to Face) in this very poorly constructed piece of correspondence.

It was just the single page with no indication of who had been the originator of this letter or the firm/company/department responsible for sending this poorly written page. Nor is there any closing "Yours, whatever" at the end.

Now this could have something to do with the employment people that I had to attend when I first applied for the pittance called New Start Allowance a few months ago. I did the intial interview so I could get my name down for employment opportunities.

Back in 1982 when I sold my business I went to register with the Govt Employment Office because I thought they were out there to get me back into mainstream PAYE employement. WRONG. I had to be registered with Social Security first. It was so complicated that I went and got myself a job.

Two repairmen were standing at the base of a flagpole looking at its top. An engineer walked by and asked what they were doing.

"We're supposed to find the height of this flagpole" said Sven "but we don't have a ladder."

The engineer took a wrench from her purse loosened a couple of bolts and laid the pole down on the ground. Then she took a tape measure from her pocketbook took a measurement, announced "Twenty one feet, six inches" and walked away.

One repairman shook his head and laughed "A lot of good that does us. We ask for the height and she gives us the length!"

To park your car for an hour in Soho, London costs more than the minimum wage. There are people working in McDonalds in Soho who can look out of the window and see parking meters earning more than they do.
