This form of finding a partner troubles me. I have met 2 Russian women before, who had married English men. Both men were control freaks and they felt helpless.
It worries me that the women really have no way of knowing who the are getting involved with.
On the flip side. Does the man know that he may be needed to help support her family back home.
The only people who really profit from this is the mail order owners.

Spot on. All you have to do is a google search and find out how many guys are in prison for murdering their mail order brides or attempting to murder them and all sorts of nasty things.

I rent my living space. I can say with out a doubt, it might have more fact than fiction to it.
Over the course of maybe two and a half years, my landlord was going back and forth, communicating with a woman in China. He took six weeks absence and came back with a wife and her son. That's when he spilled the details of what he'd been doing to his daughter and son-in-law(my next door neighbors on one side of me).
