Oh, wow! I thought de moose was absent from CS because he was off working with groups that fight Forrest fires.
Not too long ago, I was prohibited from posting in the forums and blogs for about a month. I mentioned the time lapse to the mods and they then let me participate again. I never got a clear explanation why I was banned.

Amazing how time flies while we continue to sail away with our dreams. Those were the days Gal but there's plenty more ahead....never give up the dream.
Thank you serene. Was a busy week and just now making it here.
The debut album from Prince was not successful, and without a hit song from it... His second album did have a hit single, but didn't get very much airtime, or airplay on the radio. 'I wanna be your lover', was the first hit single by Prince in 1979. In that year, I was 15 and I didn't like it at all. In fact, I didn't like Prince because of his name alone. Prince ? That's such a cocky name for a guy who hasn't had any success in popular music. And I believed then, that Prince would be a flash in the pan, and by the next year, he wouldn't be heard from again.
'I wanna be your lover' scored two weeks at No.1 on the Rhythm & Blues singles chart, and peaking at No.11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The following is not a full list of the competition that Prince had in 1979. The Majors were all over the charts that year: Earth, Wind & Fire, Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney & Wings, Styx, Donna Summers, Billy Joel, Foreigner, Diana Ross, ELO, Van Halen, ABBA, Michael Jackson, Eagles, KISS, The Doobie Brothers, Journey.
Looking back, it's a miracle that he was able to get a foot in the door amongst so many established artists.
In 1983, Prince released the album titled: 1999. It was a genius work and the song: Little Red Corvette, captured me. Prince, had earned his name. And was such a wonderful blessing in my world of music listening. And just when I thought that he couldn't possibly achieve any better, then came Purple Rain.
