In July, it will be one year since I lost my darling Maltese Terrier boy, Ben.

Many tears have been shed and lonely times endured, but over the past couple of months I've found that the pain has lessened and I feel I'm ready to open my heart and my home to a new fur friend.

I miss having a little soul to nurture and care for, daily walks and good company purple heart

I'm hoping to adopt a rescue dog, and have always been intrigued by bull terriers conversing

They seem to have a good temperament and can be indoor/outdoor pets, I think..

Does anyone have experience with this breed? wine

Hi Serene,

I am glad you are thinking about a new furbabyhug

I have a rescue Staffie, and I totally adore her.

Intelligent, funny, intuitive and very loving.

She adores all people she meets, especially children. And they adore her.

She has turned 2 people who were terrified of dogs into proud dig-owners.

They are much maligned and very unfairly. They are beautiful dogs.

The only thing they are bad at is being a guard dog. They'd turn over for a belly rub instead laugh

Yes it's been a long, cold difficult time since I lost my boy Molly but I know that the love and care I gave him can be extended to another little soul.

My brother had Staffies, gorgeous dogs grin

Very strong, but sooky and adorabledancing dog

Of course I'm not adamant about bull terriers, whoever I choose will have a loving furever home, with me.

I have an older Staffie and a new rescue, a young Lurcher.

Both fabulous, but totally different.

The staffie is so intelligent and intuitive, and the Lurcher then is brainless, mad, loving, adorable and, did I say brain-free?laugh

I'm looking for a small-medium dog, one that likes to chill on the sofa but who is energetic and playful too conversing

Maybe 2-3 yrs old, but I would be happy to give an older dog a home also thumbs up

I got my staffie when she was 5, and the new baby is 3.
Coca is 11 now.
I'll post pics of them over on the blogs (I can't do it here). I'll use Map's thread, he won't mind

Looking forward to that grin

I'd like to think I could offer a home to a dog who is in their twilight years, God knows they deserve it, but I'm not sure I could go through the emotional trauma of euthanasia in the near future sad flower

I'd rather a younger, healthy dog who has a bright future purple heart

MikeD12: Dear serene you are looking so lean
I am doubting that you are right.
You are not that old so don't be mean
to yourself as I'm sure you are Bright
and your engine can still go all night.
