I specifically told him that I lost everything in a divorce, he never responded. I feel really confused, and I do not know why someone would do this kind of this thing.
I can understand you feel a little hurt & humiliated, but you're not alone & many people have lost more than just pride.. Just put it down to experience & look at it as a learning curb.

His profile also said that his income $100,000-$150,000 , nothing is making sense to me at all. I never used this kind of website. I even wrote to him that I lost everything in a divorce. I feel devastated.

Perhaps he copy and paste love letters from internet and add few more sentences of his own....that's what scammers do. Scammers first make preparations to soften you up before seeking money for suden emergency situation. Don't give to anybody your home address and personal informations !!!If you ever going to meet person face to face ...make sure is in public places where's many people around and tell some friend where your going and who your meeting to watch after your safety.

It smells to scammer.
Be aware that even regular forum posters might be scammers I have my doubs with a couple or so.
Just do not send money to anyone not even if his Grandma needs a surgery
and get it over with.

i assume anyone i meet on net is scammer until i photo chat and meet in public. the most dangerous scammers you meet and they lie about friends and family far away.=- that happens a lot actually.

Yes you were being scammed. Everything you write on here screams scammer, but unless you've ever (which now you have) had someone try to scam you, you wouldn't know this, do read all the warning signs on CS about scammers. You say you told him you don't have money, they don't care, they will smooth talk you until they have you so madly in love with them you can't think straight and they will have you begging, borrowing and stealing for them and their "love". A typical scammer on this site are: engineers, divorced/widowed with a child or two, wanting you to get off this site to email them, and are supposedly wealthy. They will write you for a long time and gain your confidence and get you to fall for them, then they will hit you for money. It is so slick you won't even know it. Don't feel bad, you are lucky they were found out. This is not a real person, it is a part these scammers are playing, they steal the pictures of someone, they don't live in these glamorous places and don't make all that money, it is all a fantasy that people fall for. So pour yourself a glass of wine and toast to yourself that you are still here and now you are wiser, you've got your first scammer under your belt. Always be cautious. There are some great people on here.
