Well ... I think it is because of what people call god is actually something totally different from what they think it is, And there for this "force" is misguided, giving these consequences that you describe.

Religion is not the answer for worlds problems, If it was, we would live in a perfect world. but we are not. So it is an epic fail. Human kind need to reconsider that only thing to help is ourself. We simply have to change and stop using religion as an excuise to everything.

Simply treat others as you want to be treated yourself, it is that simple.

I never had faith in any god.

There are natural forces on our planet and there are people's actions and its consequences.

World is made of pain, blood, hunger and violence. Embrace it as your inner fuel, take the goal of pursuing the good and the little beauty that still remains and surf through it.
Than, if the god exists or not, don't care anymore

apart from commenting whatever on whatever for whatever and having a wank cause it sounded good, there's actually a process to help you with your conundrum.
It takes a long time, but my personal feeling is that it is worth it.
So
I would suggest you imagine there is a very specific even anthropomorphic god, and he/she sits in front of you and you have a chat. Now go back and imagine what you would like your situation to be in that chat. and now reconsider you whole life, no excuses, and make sure you're ok with yourself in that chat or work towards it. the trick is to find enough peace inside so that whether there is a god or not, you act and react the same. (at least in your imagination, cause we are all fragile beings but that doesn't mean we should give up trying.)
after you achieve this kind of introvert-extrovert equity and carelessness, you will feel much more empowered in relation to the cosmos and more importantly yourself. you might be surprised by what actually matters to you, but at least you will know what it is. and then at that hypothetical conversation you can well say... "dude/dudess, i like this and that so there you go, do as you please, i still like this and that."

take care,
me

She told me she was going shopping, but that was 9 years ago, although the buses are usually late where we live.

Looks like there might be a damsel in distress... Shouldn't we send a search party?
