Hi I am new to CS but I have never seen so many widower men in one place, is there something I should know ?
By the way I really am a widow.

The site is called "Connecting singles", hence, it's expected that the majority of the users are single. Widows / widowers are deemed to be overrepresented here, comparing to any given group of people in the total population.

On the other hand, scammers often impose as widowers. If it looks fishy - it's fishy.

You will always find scammers everywhere, online and physically. So all you have to do is enjoy the blog and laugh if they make you laugh until a real person passes by.You are here for one reason and you are aware that there are scammers, keep you cool and follow the conversation, don't give your phone number, your email address and of course your bank account number. Keep it here until you meet the person physically in a very public place and see for yourself if this is a human face or the other one, you know what I mean.

I really don't always come to site since I put myself in it, because this site is only to make me laugh for some minutes. So in all your life you've only heard about scamming in Nigeria? Well, me, I have heard about big time scammers while living in New York and the Netherlands. In fact, a politician asked someone if he wants their country to be like the Netherlands, a country with number one criminal record? There are bad and good people everywhere and I think those who concentrate on scammers are so in secure and not able to keep their mind positive in everything.

uhhh Netherlands a country with no 1 criminal record?? I think you misunderstood something.

Yes I'm Dutch and yes I am a widow, a real one unfortunately.

This is on the international expats website:
'The Netherlands is a very safe country in which to live and many people never experience crime of any sort'

And yes, scammers and criminals are everywhere, just use your common sense.
If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't

Impose as widowers?? They can pose, but not impose.
Another category scammers rise as are current or ex military officers; retired bankers, doctors; sports figures; many other high-income professions. One idiot even posed as a former drag queen, complete with photo of themselves wearing women's clothes but without make-up or wig...laugh go figure....Many claim to have a child in need of an operation to save their life; many wish to invest large sums of money in return for a cash or cashier's cheque to ensure they are honest...laugh All really pathetic inducements to get your money. Many also use the Find-a-Mate Marriage angle...it never ends as the suckers waiting to lose their money never seems to end. wine

many of the ones that say the wife died are not telling the truth. Be careful. There are many scammers out there . I already found a few here on this side and reported a few.

Thanks for correcting my error. Perhaps, I meant "impersonate".

By the way, I've been called "scammer" a few times by people, who contacted me first, ie I didn't want anything from them and didn't even know about their existence. And I never claimed a doctor's degree or a widow status; not even a military rank. Perhaps, I should?

grin
