I used to live in France, and like any other country the accent isn't French, it depends on where in the country you are having a conversation. The young French speak with a different accent, and some older French are very difficult to understand. Imagine a French person trying to understand someone with a Geordie accent in the UK?
I love it when foreign females speak English, yes, the French, but I also have a thing about the East Europeans, which includes Russia, Latvia etc. I used to have a girlfriend who was half Hungarian. Having worked in Holland, I can also say that their standard of English is so high that you would never know that some of them are Dutch when talking to them.

favourite: scottish or westcoast canadian
my car broke down in the highlands...and although we were both speaking english, the mechanic and i had to resort to writing notes to each other to understand what each other was saying... i kept telling him i needed my muffler fixed...
it did help finding out that the term, 'muffler' doesn't seem to exist on cars in scotland
