KL, I THINK you're asking the WRONG question! Or maybe EXAMINING the wrong word, would be a better way to say it. I read KP's comment, and I THINK I understand. At least I EMPATHIZE with a VERSION of her thought! But IF I were to change ANYTHING in the quote, it WOULDN'T be "demand"! I would change "FOR" yourself, to "OF" yourself! JMO

Sorry D! There's NOTHING WRONG with "competition"! Competition is ONLY a "problem" because ALMOST EVERYBODY is competing with the WRONG OPPONENT! For the WRONG THINGS!
INSTEAD of competing with OTHERS, you COMPETITION SHOULD BE with YOURSELF! To BE a MORE or BETTER YOU, than YOU ARE, or WERE, YESTERDAY!
And INSTEAD of competing for the BIGGEST HOUSE, the BEST CAR, the PRETTIEST WIFE, the BIGGEST BANK ACCOUNT, as the army says it, COMPETE to - "BE ALL you CAN BE"!
