There's a difference between prophetic dreams and normal dreams, it's hard to explain. My most recent prophetic dream was a small safe vault with its door open, about 2 feet tall where I could see several bundles of money packed inside. Think me delusional if you wish but our developers had recently begun a new project, it comes in the form of an App, that's all I can say at this time and it should be online Aug-Sept. So when I first had this dream I thought YAY, success. boogie Now on second thoughts the dream might be reflecting the development costs and advertising, which is costly. That doesnt deter my positive stance, we will be a success because we have the best people on the job and the best product to offer. Stay tuned. You will read about this dream again right here. thumbs up

The Tibetan logic and reason approach is a useful aid...sensible, meaningful...this sought of explanation assisting our search for answers:

When we were babies, we didn’t have political problems, did we? When we were babies, we didn’t have economic or societal problems. That’s because we were too immature for ego conflict or intellectualization. When we were babies we didn’t have religious conflict, religious dissatisfaction or philosophical or racial conflict; we didn’t have those kinds of intellectual problem.

But as we grow, we begin to intellectualize: “What is society? Who am I? How should I identify myself? What is my significant archetype?” Our ego wants some kind of identity, something to hold on to in a grasping way. It can’t be natural. That’s why we’re completely artificial, confused and dissatisfied.

Reincarnation is accepted in many place a just a natural fact, like the sun coming up. In nature, everything cycles, matter, energy etc. One of the main tenants of Christianity is "mortality of the soul". The problem is, why would an immortal soul go from point A to point B and stop? It doesn't make sense in the natural skeem of things. People have been regressed into prior lives under hypnosis. Check out a book called "'The search for Bridy Murphy". It's about a NJ woman who, under hypnosis was regressed into a prior life, and research was done to locate that life in 19th century Ireland. She actually live before, and described her life, and death. Very illuminating. You might have read recently about a little boy who remembered his previous life where he was a fighter pilot killed in action in Iwa Jima. They located his family, so he met the sister, and he went to the squadron reunion. He recognized his men, and commented " they have gotten so old!" Most people don't remember their past lives. I believe that is a protection built in to keep us from going crazy if we had a particularly traumatic death. Just imagine. The little boy would wake up screaming, as he had burned to death in the crash of the plane.

Keepers: Do you believe that it is possible for reincarnation to exist? Give reasons and remember freedom of speech is free for all.

This is possibly the best way to find someone on these threads, as I've looked for Mercedes without any luck. Perhaps her posts are few and far between.

I believe in reincarnation, it's the only thing that makes sense of the madness.
How r u reincarnation in ur beliefs ?

No,I don't believe in reincarnation...
I think people flatter their fragile selves with the thought of spiritual immortality...

Interesting you mention a tree as the first study of any sought relating to Buddhism i made was reading a book called the Way of Zen
(The Way of Zen is a 1957 non-fiction book on Zen Buddhism and Eastern philosophy by philosopher and religious scholar Alan Watts. It was a bestseller and played a major role in introducing Buddhism to a mostly young, Western audience.)
The main thing i took from what i was reading was contemplate whether a tree existed and if it did in what way did it exist. I spent a few day's looking at a tree.
Very complicated when you consider the interdependent nature and arising's of the object under consideration, the tree, a leaf just dropped, (what tree) where did the tree come from the mother the and father tree that cross pollinated and produced the seed, or perhaps a nurserymen who grew the root stock from cuttings. Darn a leaf fell.
Does a tree actually exist? Oh yes can see what we label as tree, or can we, the roots, the siphon system pumping water internally, pollinators, bugs and insects whole mired that is the object under consideration in seriously looking whether a tree actually exists.
Later after years of study before qualified teachers i also considered in what way is any did the "I" I perceived as me existed.
The point being subject of tree I found most interesting

Excellent post Rob. thumbs up And your entire comment shows how everything is connected on a microscale and I can't improve on it but in my clumsy english I forgot to mention the new seed remained hidden (underground) until it was needed. Can you imagine how vast the vastness is? You mention "labels" which do no good due to our own perceptions, let alone other cultures reading our label, and we reading their labels. If you take a rough diamond and ask 10 skilled evaluators to give you a price to its dollar value, you will get 10 different offers.

I'll just take the diamondlaugh

Like onion skins, with our dualistic mind we are certainly in big troublerolling on the floor laughing

From my own experience trying to find self (contemplation of emptiness) greatly assisted my understanding. Soon after i went to town intending to visit the bank and in front of me a lady walked across the road as traffic had stopped at traffic lights. The lights turned green and young kid berried his boot, drove right across the intersection and bowled the lady crossing the road.
I went quickly to her side and she what had happened...I told her she looked the wrong way and a car had hit her, a policemen arrived, looked at me then directed traffic, an ambulance arrived with two medics, they looked at me, one sat before her head, the other on the other-side of her body, again she asked what had happened and i repeated she looked the wrong way and a car had hit her, the ambulance guy repeated what i had told her. Then she asked about daughter (teenage maybe twenty) who was crying and i told her, her daughter was OK.
I looked at her, and next thing i knew ambulance guy wracked and that brought back from white space, no thought, nothing.
I carried onto my bank, then washed her blood off my hands in a butcher shop.

Later I read the lady taught meditation at the local hospital...nothing is ever lost...

Now that was a funny story. rolling on the floor laughing Was she perhaps from the US because the same thing happened here as we drive on the opposite side of the road. Just shows, one has to remain aware.
