Oprah Winfrey did an interview with 6 or 7 Peadophiles going back a few years ago.....was hard to watch but each had differing opinions about their 'condition'.....
Some were ashamed and disgusted about their urges...others not so much.

Congrats on introducing the topic for discussion. One that is very hard for a lots of human beings to consider. It is estimated that roughly 75% of p*dophile were abused as children. Some say that if you are abused in any way as a child or adult that part of you will remain and revert back to at that age until you as an adult get enough help to grow that child within; to make you a complete adult.

Imagine if there were a way for an early intervention that could some how head off pedophilia after a child has been abused....to some how heal the trauma etc that comes from being abused before it turned into pedophilia.....it needs to be talked about....researched and understood just like we study serial killers etc....in hopes that some how we can maybe head off that path before others get hurt....it doesn't do a lot of good to track that path after the fact so some intervention needs to be done early on so that path doesn't continue....yes I have seen the dolls etc....I don't know if they have helped or made things worse....but it sure as hell cant be a bad thing to try to develop some kind of treatment based on knowledge.....I know the hurt they cause which is why it has to be stopped but without an understanding it wont be....turning a blind eye and pretending they don't exist or refusing to discuss it isn't going to do anything but allow offenders to keep offending...we jail them and the cycle continues.....

That doesn't mean those people have control over their behaviour and would respond adequately to your expectations...
You say the present medications do not work, are you by any chance working in that field? Medication for depression doesn't have the same effect on every depression sufferer...
Even aspirin has different effect on different people...
Same with other illnesses...
Human mind isn't exactly the easiest part of the human nature to explore...
Cancer doesn't back off while scientists are searching for cure...
As ugly as it is, it won't stop paedofiles doing what they are doingng...
The only solution is to line them up and shoot them, right?
