Trouble makers should not be allowed on a public website, as they are the same as scammers.
For some or other reason they feel that it will make the thread more interesting / funny / intelligent / enjoyable!!!! Insulting people in real life, is not allowed, why is it then allowed on a public website, which is world wide?
Most people just shrug it off, as stupidity, but some people actually will start believing it over a period of time. It is called defamation of character, disregarding that it might have been said as a joke, which most of the time it isn't.
It all depends - some people have anti-social personalities types and some people are too sensitive and need to acquire some resilience.
Who sets the standards?
Usually it's the weak minded, excessively PC individuals who have the most time to squeal and shout ( as theyhave nothing better to do? ) ... the devil makes works for idle hands scenario ?

You think you set the standards, from this answer. Men like you want all women to be weak-minded, cannot comply to your ridiculous requirements.

I don't see this comment as directed towards women, but more explaining why there are some individuals who like to just be mean to others, by putting them down, spreading bad & false rumors, etc.
I agree with the subject of this post, I think it is deplorable that people criticize others and are just plain mean. Usually these types of people, (men, women & some children), have low self esteem and need to do these things just to feel better about themselves. Make them look good to others, when in fact all they are doing is bringing themselves down lower.
If someone does this to you, just ignore the person, who's doing this to you. Don't give them any attention, for that is another thing they want. Just consider the source and move on. Surround yourself with positive, friendly people. In the end you will be the winner... Always!
I was referring to Hexagon's comment, (I thought I hit the "Quote" bullet, sorry). But, also agree with Smiley's post about offensive people. Just clarifying my previous reply.

If you ignore these people, they just get worse, and after a while people will comment:
It must be true, else why is nobody negating it!!!!!!
This is an International Public Forum. Just want to establish that fact before I continue.
Before any proper discussion begins, definitions need to be equally shared and agreed upon.
Please define: "Trouble maker" and "Scammer"
My dictionary shows that they are quite different. Therefore, the following statement is incorrect.
smiley963: Trouble makers should not be allowed on a public website, as they are the same as scammers.
And consequently, the directive: "not be allowed on a public website" does not have to be followed.

Should this type of scamming be allowed?
1. The title is about trying to "discredit people" which is a strategy often employed on a forum. The fallacy often used is called "ad hominem". (Which is a technique frequently seen in your threads.) 2. Then you write about trouble makers and scammers, equating them as the same. 3. Then you go back to how discrediting people is "stupidity" and people "believing it". 4. Then you claim that discrediting a person is equal to defamation of character.
Discrediting people is not defamation of character.
This is an International Public Forum. I have just shown that your argument does not stand.
And my comment does not contain any defamation of character as I have not made any personal attacks on you. I have dissected your argument and shown the errors in your logic.

Some people are beyond reasoning with Kaylana. They find any kind of self examination to be an alien concept.
